New footage reported from Nintendo’s Japanese Zelda account shows two locations in the Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: young Link moving through Hyrule Castle Town and adult Link climbing around Gerudo Fortress. The clips highlight streets, stairs and a busy town square in one scene, then fortress ladders and a view across the desert in the other. Nintendo has announced the remake for Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.

What does the new Ocarina of Time remake footage show?

Notebookcheck’s October 5, 2026 report describes two short location clips attributed to Nintendo’s Japanese Zelda account. Vice’s October 4 report supplies the account-post dates and reproduces the accompanying location captions. The scenes below are therefore descriptions from those reports, rather than independently verified frame-by-frame details.

Hyrule Castle Town with young Link

The Castle Town clip follows young Link past a couple dancing beside a fountain. The camera turns around the square as Link climbs a set of stairs, revealing alleyways, additional buildings and higher parts of the town. As reported by Vice, the account caption characterized Castle Town as a lively place at the center of the kingdom, with people and shops.

Gerudo Fortress with adult Link

In the Gerudo Fortress clip, adult Link uses ladders to reach upper levels of the buildings. The camera then pans across the surrounding desert. Reports also note an updated arrangement of the Gerudo Valley theme. Vice reproduced a caption describing the fortress as being in a vast desert where the Gerudo live.

When were the clips posted?

Vice dates the reported Castle Town post to September 30, 2026, and the Gerudo Fortress post to October 1, 2026. Notebookcheck published its coverage on October 5. These are dates reported by those outlets; the Japanese posts themselves were not independently verified for this article.

What the footage suggests about the Switch 2 remake

The clips offer glimpses of remodeled locations and character movement, not a complete tour or a confirmed map of changes. They show a camera moving around the Castle Town square and over the fortress landscape, while Link navigates stairs and ladders. Nintendo separately says the remake will have overhauled visuals, revised camera controls and additional movement commands. The available footage reports do not establish that the visible streets, upper sections or other areas are newly explorable, nor do they support a precise comparison with the original game’s maps.

Nintendo has also announced voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, orchestral music and day-and-night progression that continues in towns. These are features Nintendo has described for the game; the two location clips alone do not demonstrate how each will work across the full adventure.
