NVIDIA said GeForce NOW streamed more than 175 million hours during its first official year, including 100 million multiplayer hours and 16 million hours spent playing indie games. The figures appeared in coverage of the service’s first anniversary on February 4, 2021; they are historical company-reported totals, not current service statistics or independently audited measurements.
What did GeForce NOW report for its first year?
HotHardware’s February 4, 2021 anniversary coverage attributed the figures to NVIDIA. The report described activity during GeForce NOW’s first official year and said the service supported over 800 games at that time.
| First-year figure | What it describes |
|---|---|
| More than 175 million hours | Total gaming hours streamed by GeForce NOW subscribers during the first official year, as reported by NVIDIA in 2021 coverage. |
| 100 million hours | Multiplayer gaming hours included in the first-year total, as reported by NVIDIA. |
| 16 million hours | Hours spent playing indie games, included in the first-year total, as reported by NVIDIA. |
| Over 800 games | The supported-game count reported at the time of the February 2021 anniversary coverage; it is a historical snapshot. |
The multiplayer and indie figures are categories within the total, not additional hours to add to it. The report does not establish that the categories are mutually exclusive, so they should not be combined to infer a distinct share of total play. Read HotHardware’s February 4, 2021 coverage.

Which 14 games were announced?
The contemporary coverage’s headline described 14 new games, but the available source material does not verify the complete roster. Without a sourced list, naming titles would risk giving readers an inaccurate answer. The supported claim is that the report presented the anniversary as including 14 new games—not a verified enumeration of those games.

How do the 2021 figures compare with NVIDIA’s later claims?
They are separate milestones measured over different periods. In a February 5, 2026 six-year anniversary post, NVIDIA said members had streamed more than 1 billion hours since launch. That later company-reported cumulative figure does not revise or independently validate the 2021 first-year report. See NVIDIA’s February 2026 anniversary post.
NVIDIA also later announced RTX 5080-class cloud servers and advertised streaming at up to 360 fps at 1080p in the context of that upgrade. Those are later capabilities and must not be read back into the service’s 2021 specifications. The same later announcement described a preinstalled library of over 2,300 games—a vendor claim from that announcement, not the library count reported in 2021. See NVIDIA’s Blackwell announcement.
