Nushrratt Bharuccha’s team said on October 2, 2026, that she suffered a spinal fracture after an accident in Bali and was hospitalised there. Her team was arranging an air ambulance to Mumbai for surgery. Reports published October 3 said she had been brought to Mumbai, but the reports reviewed did not confirm that surgery had taken place.
What happened to Nushrratt Bharuccha?
On October 2, her publicist said Bharuccha had suffered a fracture in her spine after an accident in Bali. She was in hospital and under medical observation, with further evaluation planned before surgery. The statement was reported by Hindustan Times and The Times of India.
The publicist’s statement, as quoted by Hindustan Times, said: “At present, our immediate priority is her health and ensuring she receives the necessary medical care.”

Was she brought to Mumbai, and has she had surgery?
On October 2, her team said it was arranging an air ambulance to take her to Mumbai for surgery. Follow-up reports dated October 3 said she had been airlifted or brought to Mumbai, including coverage by Moneycontrol and Cinema Express.

Those reports still described surgery as planned. They did not establish that the procedure had been completed, or provide a later account of her condition. The available reports also do not specify the precise diagnosis or which part of her spine was injured.
What is known about the accident and her work?
The reports reviewed do not explain how the accident happened. Its circumstances, location within Bali, activity, and mechanism have not been disclosed; avoid treating online speculation as confirmed information. Sacnilk’s October 3 report also noted that details of the accident had not been shared.
