Choose NordPass if you want a password manager with a free tier or a six-account family plan; choose Dashlane if its paid bundle of VPN access, Dark Web Monitoring, and phishing protections suits your needs. Neither is a source-supported universal winner. The right choice depends on how many people need accounts, which extras matter, and the price shown for your region and renewal term.

Is NordPass or Dashlane better for personal use?
Choose NordPass if a free tier matters
NordPass’s official comparison describes its Free tier as including unlimited password storage, syncing across devices, autosave, autofill, and multifactor authentication (MFA). Premium adds sharing and security-health features, including checks for weak, old, or reused passwords and scans against known breaches. Those are NordPass’s descriptions of its own plans, not an independent test. See NordPass’s plan details.
Choose Dashlane if you want the paid extras
Dashlane’s current personal plans list unlimited password storage and devices, secure sharing, Dark Web Monitoring, and real-time phishing or scam protections. Dashlane also includes VPN access for Wi-Fi protection. Its current personal pricing page lists passwordless login for new users only. See Dashlane’s personal plan features.
These extras solve different problems. Password health tools flag weak or reused passwords; breach monitoring can alert you when exposed information is found; phishing protections warn about suspicious activity; and a VPN protects network traffic in supported circumstances. None of these features, by itself, proves that one password manager’s vault is safer overall.

Yes. NordPass lists a Free tier with unlimited password storage, sync, autosave, autofill, and MFA. Its plan comparison places sharing, Password Health, and Data Breach Scanner among the Premium features. Does Dashlane include a VPN?

Which password manager is better for a family?
Compare account capacity and who receives the included extras, not just the plan name. NordPass Family covers six accounts; Dashlane Friends & Family covers ten. The Dashlane family plan’s VPN is for the plan manager only, not invited members. NordPass family plan · Dashlane family plan.
If you need no more than six accounts and want a free option to try first, NordPass’s structure may fit better. If you need up to ten accounts and value its paid protections, Dashlane’s plan may fit better. Confirm the current account limits and feature terms on checkout before deciding.

Is Dashlane safer than NordPass?
The reviewed vendor documentation does not establish that either service is categorically safer. NordPass describes XChaCha20 encryption, zero-knowledge architecture, third-party audits, and a bug bounty program. Dashlane’s security paper describes a zero-knowledge design in which it says no one, including Dashlane, can access or reconstruct a user’s Master Password. These are the providers’ own technical descriptions, not an independent apples-to-apples security audit. NordPass security claims · Dashlane security white paper.
When assessing security, separate four questions: how the vault is protected, whether MFA is available and enabled, whether phishing warnings are included, and whether breach monitoring can alert you to exposed information. Monitoring and warnings may help you respond, but they do not prevent every compromise or demonstrate that the underlying vault is stronger.

How much does NordPass or Dashlane cost in 2026?
The reviewed official pages do not establish comparable numeric prices. NordPass’s captured pricing fields displayed “Loading,” while the captured Dashlane personal pricing page did not expose an amount. Dashlane says updated personal prices began taking effect in mid-February 2026; for an existing subscriber, the new price applies at renewal after notification. Which is a better fit for a business?
Business plans are a separate comparison from personal subscriptions. Start with the organization’s needs: shared credentials and admin controls, single sign-on (SSO) and provisioning, security monitoring, integrations, or visibility into credential risks outside managed apps.
NordPass business tiers
NordPass describes Teams for small teams; Business adds group-based and folder credential sharing, password-strength and breach monitoring, and Vanta integration; Enterprise adds further identity integrations, provisioning, and SIEM tools. Its business pages do not establish current seat minimums or numeric tier prices in the captured information, so confirm those with NordPass or at checkout. Dashlane business tiers
Dashlane separates Password Management, focused on employee passwords and passkeys, sharing, policies, SSO, and SCIM, from Credential Protection, positioned around credential risk, phishing detection, alerts, and remediation. Enterprise is custom priced. Dashlane business pricing.
Dashlane’s comparison page argues that its business offering gives broader workforce visibility, browser phishing defense, and insight into applications outside SSO. Treat that as Dashlane’s vendor-authored position: it says its comparison uses publicly available feature information as of April 2026, and it does not establish an independent head-to-head result. - Count the users. Check whether a six-account NordPass Family plan or ten-account Dashlane Friends & Family plan covers everyone who needs a separate account.
