Nivalis Nights blends a cyberpunk city with the rhythms of a life and business sim: build a food or nightlife business, fish and grow ingredients, make a home, and decide how to spend each day. The comparison to Cyberpunk 2077, Dave the Diver, and Stardew Valley works as a shorthand for its setting and advertised activities—not as a promise that it plays like any of those games.
What is Nivalis Nights?
Nivalis Nights is a single-player adventure, RPG, and simulation game developed by ION LANDS and published by 505 Games. It released on Steam on September 29, 2026. The game was previously announced under the name Nivalis, as the publisher’s earlier announcement explains.
Its official pitch centers on life in Nivalis, a cyberpunk city. You begin with a noodle stand and can build toward larger hospitality businesses, including restaurants and nightclubs. Along the way, you can meet the city’s residents, decorate a home, grow or buy ingredients, and take a boat out to fish. The catches can be used in your kitchens, connecting the quieter activities back to the business loop. These are features described by the Steam listing and the official game site.

How the three comparisons fit
The title’s mash-up is most useful when each reference is kept to the part the official description actually supports. The shared ingredients suggest a particular kind of game; they do not establish matching mechanics, scope, or progression.
#1 Best Overall
| Game named in the comparison | Overlap supported by Nivalis Nights’ official description | What the comparison does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Cyberpunk 2077 | A cyberpunk city and setting. | Combat, an action-heavy open-world RPG structure, or equivalent progression. |
| Dave the Diver | Fishing linked to food-business management. | Diving, identical restaurant systems, or the same progression loop; Nivalis Nights describes boating and fishing. |
| Stardew Valley | Life-simulation elements, growing ingredients, relationships, and home life. | Comparable farming scope or seasonal progression. |
That distinction matters if you are choosing the game for one specific feature. Fishing is present, but the official materials do not say it is the whole focus; growing ingredients appears alongside buying them, and is not described as a full farming system. Likewise, the cyberpunk setting frames a life sim and business game rather than confirming a combat-first experience.
What you do from day to day
The central choice is how much of each day to give to the business and how much to give to the people and routines around it. Steam’s official description puts it plainly: “In this slice-of-life simulation, every day is a choice: will you spend it growing your business or forging bonds with the city’s strange inhabitants?”

Build a food or nightlife business
The advertised business path starts at a noodle stand and can expand toward restaurants and nightclubs. Ingredient growing and buying, plus fish that can go into your kitchens, connect resource gathering with hospitality. The official descriptions establish these activities, but do not specify the depth of the financial systems, the pace of expansion, or how much strategic complexity each business type offers.
Make a home and form relationships
You can buy and decorate apartments and build relationships with a large voiced cast, according to the game’s official materials. The pitch presents these as meaningful alternatives to business development in the day-to-day routine; it does not give enough detail to characterize the relationship systems or how they change over time.

Go out on the water
The official descriptions mention taking a boat out, finding fishing spots, and using catches in your kitchens. That supports a fishing-and-food connection, but not an assumption that the game includes the diving loop or restaurant progression found in Dave the Diver.
Live with the city’s changing conditions
The official site also highlights a day-night rhythm, weather, curfew, and danger. These give the city more than a purely decorative role in the pitch, but the published descriptions do not explain how often those conditions affect a player’s plans or how consequential they are. The 505 Games announcement for the original Nivalis concept also described realistic weather and day-night cycles.

What early coverage adds—and what it cannot settle
In its September 30, 2026 launch coverage, PC Gamer described Nivalis Nights as a cyberpunk slice-of-life and shop sim. The writer said the shop-finance simulation was deeper than expected. That is one writer’s early impression, not a settled consensus or evidence that every system is equally deep. The official feature lists and that initial reaction are useful for understanding the game’s pitch, but they do not answer how well its business, fishing, relationships, and city systems balance in play.

Who might enjoy the premise?
- If you like cyberpunk settings: the appeal here is inhabiting a city through work, home, and social life. Do not treat the comparison to Cyberpunk 2077 as confirmation of similar combat or action-RPG play.
- If food and fishing are the draw: the advertised link between fishing, ingredients, and kitchens is the clearest point of contact with Dave the Diver. The official pitch describes boating and fishing, not an identical diving-centered structure.
- If you prefer cozy life sims: relationships, home decoration, ingredient growing, and daily choices overlap with some of Stardew Valley’s broad appeal. The available description does not establish equivalent farming breadth or seasonal routines.
The most helpful question is not whether Nivalis Nights literally combines three familiar games, but which of its advertised activities you want to spend time on. Its premise links business growth, relationships, home life, and fishing; the official descriptions leave their relative depth and balance open.
Best Value
- HIGH ENERGY SOCIAL DEDUCTION: Split into hidden teams of Villagers and Werewolves and argue, accuse and vote in a conversation driven party game that rewards sharp observation, table talk and reading your friends.
- MODERATOR LED DAY AND NIGHT PHASES: A neutral Moderator narrates the story, manages the “day” debates and “night” actions, and keeps the game flowing so players can stay focused on bluffing, strategy and social interaction.
- ICONIC ROLES WITH SPECIAL POWERS: Includes classic roles like Seer alongside other characters that gain secret information or influence the vote, creating tense choices for both Villagers and Werewolves each time the group plays.
- FLEXIBLE FOR MANY GROUP SIZES: Scales smoothly from classrooms and clubs to parties and game nights, supporting a wide range of player counts while each new mix of people creates fresh dynamics and surprising outcomes.
- ACCESSIBLE YET DEEP GAMEPLAY: Simple rules teach quickly, but hidden roles, shifting alliances and table meta make Ultimate Werewolf a favorite for fans of deduction, mystery and bluff based games who enjoy returning again and again.
