The original NexiGo Aurora Pro is a 4K ultra-short-throw laser projector designed to put a large image close to the screen: NexiGo recommends 80–150 inches, and RTINGS measured its tested unit at 80 inches from 3.9 inches away and 150 inches from 17.3 inches. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, but its advertised 2,400 peak lumens are a manufacturer lab figure—not a guarantee of a bright, reference-quality picture in daylight. This review covers the original Aurora Pro, not the Aurora Pro MKII.

What the original Aurora Pro offers

NexiGo specifies a 3840 × 2160 image produced by a 0.47-inch DMD DLP display and ALPD 4.0 light source. Its listed features include Dolby Vision, HDR10+, MEMC, 3D, electric focus, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and Alexa compatibility. These are manufacturer specifications; they should not be read as independent measurements of picture quality or real-world performance.

Specification Original Aurora Pro Evidence and qualification
Resolution and display 3840 × 2160; 0.47-inch DMD DLP NexiGo specification
Light source ALPD 4.0 NexiGo specification
Peak brightness 2,400 lumens NexiGo says this is a lab-tested peak; results can vary with test conditions and unit variation
Color gamut 107% BT.2020 NexiGo specification
Contrast ratio 3,000:1 FOFO NexiGo specification
Throw ratio and image size 0.233:1; recommended 80–150 inches NexiGo specification
HDR and 3D Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 3D NexiGo specification; RTINGS also identifies Dolby Vision support
Wireless and smart features Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, Alexa compatibility NexiGo specification; RTINGS describes Android TV with Miracast and AirPlay integration
Audio 2 × 15 W woofers and 2 × 15 W tweeters; 60 W total, Dolby Atmos NexiGo specification; RTINGS reports eARC audio passthrough

For connections, NexiGo lists three HDMI 2.1 ports, three USB-A 2.0 ports, Ethernet, and an audio output. RTINGS independently describes three HDMI 2.1 ports and eARC passthrough. The available evidence establishes the features, but not a comparative ranking against other projectors.

How far from the screen does it sit?

The 0.233:1 throw ratio is intended for placement close to the screen. NexiGo recommends an image size from 80 to 150 inches. In its review of the original model, RTINGS reports that its tested unit produced an 80-inch image with the projector 3.9 inches from the screen, and a 150-inch image at 17.3 inches. Those are review measurements for the tested unit, not a substitute for checking your own installation.

NexiGo Aurora Pro MKII, 4K Tri-Color Laser UST Projector, 30000:1 Contrast Ratio, Dynamic Iris & Laser Dimming, 0.21:1 Throw Ratio, Dolby Vision & Atmos, HDR10+, 3D, 4.2ms ~ 8ms Low Latency
  • 【Scene Adapt Engine】Enjoy higher-contrast visuals with our Scene Adapt Engine (SAE), the technology behind Dynamic Iris and Dynamic Laser Dimming. SAE produces deeper blacks and brighter highlights, for an impressive contrast ratio >30,000:1. This works by adjusting the laser output in real time, based on the content being displayed. SAE also lowers energy consumption by about 70%, combining environmental sustainability and impeccable image quality.
  • 【ALPD 5.0 Laser Engine】Discover the power of ALPD 5.0. This advanced laser engine produces more captivating color than ever before with 2,400 lumens brightness, 107% BT.2020 color gamut, and ΔE≈1 color accuracy. ALPD 5.0 also drastically improves focus, improving detail and eliminating soft corners completely. It also helps your projector last longer, for an impressive lifespan of 30,000 hours — that's 18+ years for the average viewer!
  • 【Lifelike Visuals】Immerse yourself in breathtaking 4K visuals, enhanced by Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Watch every scene come to life on a vibrant display of up to 150 inches. With its upgraded 0.21:1 throw ratio, Aurora Pro MKII requires less space to create this larger projection, so you can enjoy a larger-than-life screen in a home cinema of any size. Perfect for movies, gaming, and more, Aurora Pro MKII will transform your viewing experience.
  • 【Lowest Latency】Optimized for gamers, Aurora Pro MKII supports smooth 4K gaming at 120 Hz. Activate Gaming Mode for lightning-fast performance with ultra-low latency between 4.2ms ~ 8ms.
  • 【Immersive Audio】Experience rich, immersive sound with 60 W speakers and Dolby Atmos support. Build your ideal home theater setup, whether you prefer using built-in speakers, a surround sound system, or a simple soundbar with HDMI eARC.

Before buying, check the distance from the projector’s lens to the screen using your intended image size, and account for the cabinet depth and screen position. UST placement avoids the long throw of a conventional projector, but it does not remove the need to position and align the unit accurately.

Setup and alignment

NexiGo lists electric focus controlled by the remote and 4- or 8-point keystone correction. Its support resources cover first setup, image size, blur, distortion, HDMI sources, HDR, Dolby Vision, 3D playback, dust removal, and ceiling mounting. These options can help with adjustment, but they do not establish that every room or screen will be easy to align.

Is it bright enough for daylight viewing?

NexiGo advertises 2,400 peak lumens and says the figure was tested in its lab. The company also notes that results may vary with test conditions and unit variation, and recommends dark-light viewing for the best visual experience. Treat the number as a qualified manufacturer peak claim rather than a promise of a reference-quality image in a sunlit room. Ambient light, screen choice, and image size all matter to the viewing result; the available sources do not provide an independent daylight brightness test.

Does it support Dolby Vision and HDR10+?

Yes. NexiGo lists both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ for the original Aurora Pro, and RTINGS identifies Dolby Vision support in its review. NexiGo also lists 3D and MEMC. Feature support alone does not establish how the projector performs with every HDR source or setting.

It has the lowest tested input lag of 8ms among all UST projectors currently on the market. Now, you can enjoy playing your favorite PC and console games on a massive screen without sacrificing motion quality.

The available sources do not establish a representative long-term failure rate, a complete warranty assessment, or a comprehensive head-to-head performance comparison. To compare it with another UST projector, look for measurements taken at the same screen size and under comparable room conditions, including brightness, contrast, HDR handling, input lag, installation adjustment, app support, audio connectivity, and current price and warranty terms.
