As of October 8, 2026, reports say Apple may unveil three smart-home products on Tuesday, October 13: an updated Apple TV 4K, a second-generation HomePod mini, and a new display-based smart-home hub. Apple had not confirmed the event or products in its Newsroom at the time of the latest check, so treat the date and features below as rumors, not a launch announcement.
What Apple products are reportedly coming this week?
A MacRumors roundup published October 8 says Bloomberg reported that Apple is planning the three smart-home products for October 13. A separate 9to5Mac roundup also describes them as reported expectations, not finalized product specifications.
- Apple TV 4K: A refresh is rumored to include a newer chip, more memory, Wi-Fi 7, and an updated Siri Remote.
- HomePod mini: A second-generation model may bring a newer chip, improved sound, Wi-Fi 7, and additional color options.
- Smart-home hub: Reports describe a display-based device intended to manage smart-home controls and household tasks.
These details come from reporting, not Apple product pages. Apple has not confirmed the products or specifications. The reports also mention possible Macs and an iPad mini later in October, but those are separate possibilities—not part of the reported October 13 smart-home lineup.

Reports describe a roughly six-inch, square display that could be used on a countertop or mounted on a wall. It may control smart-home devices, support video calls and intercom-style messages, play audio, show photos, and display kitchen information such as recipes. Apple has not confirmed its design or functions.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Key purchase details remain unsettled: the reports do not establish the hub’s price, availability, or compatibility with specific devices. If Apple announces it, look for official information about supported accessories, placement options, calling and privacy features, and the tasks it can perform before deciding whether it fits your home.
Is Apple announcing new products on October 13?
The reported date is Tuesday, October 13, 2026, but Apple had not confirmed a product announcement or event in the Newsroom snapshot checked on October 8. The date and lineup should therefore be described as expectations reported by Bloomberg and summarized by MacRumors and 9to5Mac—not as an official Apple schedule.

Apple’s Newsroom is the primary place to check for a formal announcement. If Apple does publish details, rely on those for confirmed product names, specifications, pricing, and availability rather than treating any rumored feature as final.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesShould you wait to buy an Apple TV 4K or HomePod mini?
If your current device meets your needs, waiting until Apple confirms whether a refresh is coming can give you a clearer comparison. If you need a device now, make the decision based on the current model’s capabilities and price rather than assuming the rumored update will arrive as described.

- For Apple TV 4K buyers: Consider whether the current model already does what you need. If you can wait, compare confirmed chip and connectivity changes, price, and availability after an announcement.
- For HomePod mini buyers: Weigh your immediate need against the possibility of a refreshed model. If Apple announces one, compare its confirmed sound, connectivity, colors, price, and release timing with the current device.
- For anyone considering the hub: Wait for documented compatibility, supported features, placement details, privacy information, and price before choosing it over existing smart-home controls.
None of those comparisons can yet be settled from the reports: the lineup, specifications, price, release timing, and compatibility remain unconfirmed as of October 8, 2026.
