NCL Industries reported cement production of 781,056 metric tonnes in the quarter ended September 30, 2026, up 22% from a year earlier. Cement dispatches also rose 22%. The company’s other businesses had a more mixed quarter, while its shares closed 2.28% lower on October 8 amid a broad market sell-off; the timing alone does not show that the operating update caused the decline.
How much cement did NCL Industries produce in Q2 FY27?
For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, NCL Industries’ reported cement production was 781,056 metric tonnes (MT), compared with 640,435 MT in Q2 FY26. The reported year-over-year increase was 22%. Cement dispatches—the volume sent out for sale—were 779,428 MT, up 22% from 639,528 MT a year earlier. These figures were reported by India IPO, attributing the update to CNBC TV18; they are reported figures, not numbers directly verified here against the exchange filing.

NCL’s businesses include cement, ready-mix concrete, Bison Panel cement-bonded particle board and hydropower, according to the company website. The quarter’s figures show why cement output alone does not describe the full operating picture.

- Cement board: Production increased 22% to 13,071 MT, but dispatches declined 3% to 13,953 MT.
- Ready-mix concrete: Production and sales fell 10% to 59,882 cubic metres.
- Hydropower: Generation decreased 43% to 9.22 million units.
Production and dispatches are different measures: higher production does not necessarily mean that shipments rose by the same amount. In the board segment, production increased while dispatches declined.
How did NCL’s first half compare?
For the half-year ended September 30, 2026, the reported cement figures remained positive but showed a smaller growth rate than the Q2 comparison. Cement production was 1,473,970 MT, up 16%, and dispatches were 1,460,000 MT, up 15%. Cement-board production was 24,710 MT, down 12%, while board dispatches were 27,076 MT, up 6%. RMC production and sales declined 18% for the half-year.

The H1 figures were reported by India IPO and also summarized by Moneycontrol. Quarterly and half-year percentages cover different periods, so the Q2 growth rate should not be read as the H1 growth rate.

Why did NCL Industries shares fall 2.3%?
NCL Industries shares closed at ₹160.20 on the NSE on Thursday, October 8, 2026, down 2.28% for the day, according to India IPO, citing CNBC TV18. The headline’s 2.3% is a rounded version of that reported daily decline.

The report described a broad-based market sell-off as the backdrop. It did not quantify how much of NCL’s move came from the wider market or establish that investors were reacting to the production update. The share-price decline and operating report occurred on the same day; that coincidence is not evidence of cause and effect.

The figures are available in secondary reporting, but direct confirmation from the exchange attachment was not possible. A separate Moneycontrol summary gives the Q2 cement production figure and H1 total and links to a BSE filing; the linked PDF returned a 403 Forbidden response when accessed. NCL’s official quarterly-results page listed FY2026–27 Q1 June results, but no Q2 results when checked on October 8, 2026. Accordingly, the operating numbers above should be understood as reported figures, not as figures independently confirmed against the filing.
