Colorlib’s Multiselect V17 is a free dropdown snippet designed to cap selections. Its default limit is seven choices, and Colorlib says that limit can be changed. The example is configured for states: selected items appear in a bar above the dropdown, while selected options turn green and show a checkmark.
How the selection limit works
In Colorlib’s 2026 multiselect examples collection, V17 is described as limiting a user to seven selections by default. The maximum is adjustable, so seven is the example’s setting rather than a fixed limit for every use.
Once the maximum is reached, clicking another option does not add it. Colorlib notes that the click effect remains visible, however, so users may see a response even though their selection count has not changed. If you adapt the snippet, make the limit clear and provide feedback that distinguishes a blocked choice from a successful selection.

Where to find the demo and download
Colorlib’s V17 entry links to a demo and a “More info / Download” page. The collection describes the snippet as free, but it does not state its license or reuse terms. Review the download page’s terms before using it, especially in a commercial project.
What “Multiselect V17” refers to
This article is about Colorlib’s V17 dropdown snippet, not every component called “MultiSelect” or marked version 17. For example, PrimeNG’s v17 MultiSelect documentation covers a separate Angular component, including form binding, chips, grouping, filtering, and virtual scrolling. Its features and requirements should not be assumed to apply to Colorlib’s snippet.
