Choose the Motorola Signature if you value a lighter-feeling design, an unusually fast display, and aggressive wired and wireless charging. Choose the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if an S Pen, a higher-resolution screen, and dedicated telephoto cameras matter more than maximum refresh rate or charging speed.
Those are specification-based recommendations, not claims about which phone is faster, takes better photos, or lasts longer in real use. No controlled head-to-head testing is established for these models here. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is also a previous-generation model now that Samsung has released the Galaxy S26 family, so local price, storage configuration, warranty, and stock should determine whether its hardware advantage is worth paying for.
Motorola Signature and Galaxy S25 Ultra at a glance
The two phones target different definitions of a flagship. Motorola’s Signature emphasizes a smooth, lightweight-feeling handset with very rapid charging and a high-refresh display. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is built around a large, sharp panel, integrated pen input, and a more elaborate camera array with separate optical-zoom ranges.

Which phone fits your priorities?
Pick the Motorola Signature for speed of interaction and charging convenience
The Signature makes the stronger specification case for people who notice scrolling smoothness and dislike waiting beside a charger. Its 165 Hz ceiling can make compatible games and motion-heavy interfaces feel more fluid than a conventional 120 Hz panel, although the benefit depends on app support, frame rates, and power-management settings. The charging specification is equally distinctive: Motorola lists up to 90 W over a cable and up to 50 W wirelessly.
Motorola also lists a 5,200 mAh battery and three 50 MP rear cameras. That combination may appeal to buyers who want straightforward camera coverage without a prominent pen-focused design. It does not, by itself, prove longer endurance or better photographs than Samsung’s phone; those outcomes depend on software, display settings, radio conditions, thermals, and processing.
Pick the Galaxy S25 Ultra for pen work, resolution, and optical reach
The S25 Ultra is the more specialized productivity and long-distance photography tool. Samsung supports the S Pen, so you can write, sketch, sign documents, annotate screenshots, or use pen-aware controls without carrying a separate accessory. Its panel is specified as QHD+ rather than merely a large full-HD-class display, which is useful for fine text, detailed images, and precise pen work.
Samsung’s four-camera layout includes dedicated 3x and 5x optical zoom positions, plus optical-quality modes at 2x and 10x. That gives you more framing choices for portraits, stage events, travel details, and distant subjects. Hardware range is not the same as measured image quality, so treat this as a flexibility advantage rather than a guaranteed camera win.
Display, design, and everyday handling
Refresh rate versus resolution
Motorola’s Extreme AMOLED panel is specified at 6.8 inches with a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz. A higher ceiling can reduce perceived blur while scrolling and can benefit games that render above 120 frames per second. In practice, the phone, application, and game must all select those modes; many activities will run at lower adaptive rates to conserve energy.
Samsung specifies a 6.9-inch-class full-rectangle Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with QHD+ resolution and up to 120 Hz. QHD+ places more pixels on the panel than a lower-resolution mode, which can make small type and high-resolution photographs look more finely resolved. It also creates more pixels for the graphics system to drive. Samsung’s 120 Hz maximum is lower on paper, but it is still a high-refresh rate suitable for smooth system navigation and most games.
Neither specification tells you which screen is brighter, more accurate, easier to read outdoors, or more comfortable at low brightness. Those require standardized measurements or hands-on comparison. Check the exact display mode, adaptive-refresh behavior, and brightness reviews for your region before making display quality the deciding factor.

Shape and carrying comfort
Motorola’s launch positioning presents the Signature as the thinner and lighter-feeling proposition. The available material does not establish a universally comparable thickness or weight figure, and “lighter-feeling” can be affected by balance, frame shape, case choice, and camera bump. If pocket comfort is important, handle the local retail model or verify the regional specification sheet rather than assuming every market version is identical.
Samsung’s larger panel and pen hardware favor a broad, work-oriented footprint. That can be welcome for reading and writing but less convenient for one-handed use. A case, screen protector, and any camera-lens cover will alter both weight and grip, so include them in your comfort assessment.
Camera systems: flexibility, not a guaranteed winner
What Motorola lists
Motorola’s cited specifications list three 50 MP rear cameras. The same material does not list optical image stabilization or HDR10. Because those features are not stated in the supplied specifications, do not assume that a 50 MP sensor includes them or that the phone records HDR10 simply because it has a high pixel count.

Three cameras can still cover multiple focal lengths or software-assisted modes, but the published information here does not identify each lens’s focal length, sensor size, aperture, stabilization method, or maximum video resolution. Those omissions matter when you are choosing a phone for night scenes, moving subjects, or serious video work.
What Samsung lists
Samsung identifies four rear cameras with 200 MP, 50 MP, 50 MP, and 10 MP resolutions. It also specifies 3x and 5x optical zoom, with 2x and 10x described as optical-quality zoom. This arrangement gives the S25 Ultra explicit intermediate and longer-reach options instead of relying entirely on digital cropping from one main sensor.
Resolution numbers do not predict dynamic range, shutter response, skin tones, autofocus reliability, or night performance. Image processing can combine pixels, and a larger or better-processed sensor may outperform a higher-resolution one in a particular scene. Evaluate sample images from the exact software version and regional model if camera quality is central to your decision.
How to choose for your photography
- Choose the Signature’s approach if you mainly shoot everyday subjects and prefer a simpler specification set, provided the focal lengths and stabilization features on your local model meet your needs.
- Choose the S25 Ultra’s approach if you regularly photograph distant subjects, want dedicated optical framing steps, or need a pen for annotating images and documents.
- Do not choose on megapixels alone. Ask for evidence about autofocus, stabilization, HDR processing, RAW support, video limits, and low-light behavior.
Battery capacity and charging
Why the numbers are not a battery-life verdict
Motorola lists a 5,200 mAh battery. Samsung’s India-market specification lists a 4,855 mAh rated capacity. The figures come from different manufacturers, regions, and rating conventions, so they should not be treated as a laboratory comparison. Display resolution, refresh-rate settings, modem efficiency, processor load, camera use, signal strength, and software tuning can outweigh a capacity difference.
No comparable endurance test is established for these two models. A claim that one lasts longer would go beyond the available evidence. If battery life matters, look for tests that run the same brightness, refresh mode, network conditions, and workload on both exact variants.

The Signature is specified for up to 90 W wired charging and up to 50 W wireless charging. “Up to” is a maximum under compatible conditions, not a promise that every charger, cable, temperature, or battery state will reach it. Verify the supported charging standard, regional package contents, and whether a power adapter is included. A generic USB-C charger may charge the phone without delivering Motorola’s maximum rate.
The cited S25 Ultra specification does not provide a comparable charging wattage. Do not infer its charging speed from the battery capacity or from another Galaxy model. Buyers who prioritize short top-ups should confirm the local specification and independent charging measurements before selecting Samsung.
Software support and useful life
Motorola’s stated policy
Motorola says the Signature will receive up to seven Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. “Up to” describes the published ceiling; actual delivery can vary by country, carrier certification, and release timing. Ask the seller which model code and update channel apply to your market, especially if you import the UK-listed variant.
Samsung’s regional support date
Samsung’s India-market S25 Ultra page lists security-update support valid until 31 January 2032. That date applies to the regional listing and should not be silently generalized to every country or carrier edition. The page does not, by itself, establish how quickly each Android or One UI release will reach your device.

Performance and gaming: what can and cannot be inferred
The supplied manufacturer specifications do not provide a controlled benchmark comparing the Signature and S25 Ultra. They also do not establish sustained frame rates, thermal throttling, memory configurations, or modem performance. A higher display refresh ceiling does not prove higher game performance, and a flagship processor label does not guarantee that one phone remains cooler under a long workload.
For gaming, compare the exact RAM and storage tier, supported graphics settings, controller compatibility, heat after 20–30 minutes, and battery drain in tests that use the same title. For productivity, check multitasking behavior, desktop-mode support, file-transfer speeds, and application compatibility rather than relying on camera or display specifications.
Generation and purchase timing
Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 family in February 2026, with general availability beginning 11 March 2026. Samsung’s US launch material gave the S26 Ultra a starting price of $1,299.99. That is launch pricing for the newer generation, not a current offer for the S25 Ultra and not a guarantee of pricing outside the United States.
The S25 Ultra can still be sensible when a retailer’s discount is large enough, when you prefer its specific hardware, or when a carrier provides favorable trade-in terms. The available sources do not establish its current street price or stock. Compare today’s local listings and identify whether each listing is new, refurbished, open-box, or carrier-specific. Check storage capacity, warranty region, return period, and update eligibility before treating a low price as a bargain.
Motorola Signature pricing and availability were not established in the cited material. Verify the local model number, included charger, network bands, warranty, and return policy before comparing it with Samsung on price.

For fast scrolling and high-refresh gaming
Start with the Signature because its 165 Hz display ceiling is the clear specification advantage. Confirm that your preferred games expose a high-frame-rate mode and that adaptive refresh does not drop during play. If the game is capped at 60 or 120 frames per second, the numerical advantage will be less visible.
For handwritten notes and document markup
Choose the S25 Ultra. Integrated S Pen support is a concrete capability rather than an accessory workaround. Test handwriting latency, palm rejection, export formats, and the applications used by your school or workplace.
For telephoto photography
Choose Samsung if you need the explicitly listed 3x and 5x optical positions and optical-quality intermediate modes. Confirm image quality in your lighting conditions; the hardware description does not establish a winner in real photographs.
For rapid wired or wireless top-ups
The Signature is the natural specification choice because Motorola publishes higher maximum charging figures. Budget for a compatible charger and cable, and check thermal limits and package contents in your market.
For the longest documented update horizon
Both brands publish substantial support commitments, but they describe them differently. Motorola states a maximum number of Android upgrades plus seven years of security updates; Samsung’s cited regional page gives a security-support end date. Compare the policy that applies to your exact country, carrier, and model number rather than comparing the headline wording alone.

For the best value after a new-generation launch
Price the S25 Ultra against the newer S26 Ultra and the Signature on the same day. Include storage, tax, financing cost, trade-in value, warranty, and the condition of the handset. A prior-generation phone is not automatically a better deal, and a launch price is not a current street price.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsBuying checklist
- Write down the exact model number, storage tier, RAM configuration, and region for each offer.
- Confirm that the phone is new, refurbished, open-box, or carrier-locked, and read the warranty terms.
- Verify network bands, eSIM or physical-SIM support, and 5G compatibility with your carrier.
- Check whether a charger is included and which charging standard and wattage it supports.
- For the Signature, confirm the local camera specifications because the cited UK page does not list every optical or video feature.
- For the S25 Ultra, confirm that the S Pen is included and that the regional support date applies to the device being sold.
- Compare the final delivered price with the current S26 Ultra offer, not only with Samsung’s historical S25 launch price.
- Read the return policy and test display uniformity, cameras, charging, cellular reception, and pen operation during the return window.
Limitations you should keep in mind
This comparison uses manufacturer-published information from Motorola’s UK material, Samsung’s India-market S25 Ultra page, and Samsung US launch information for the S26 generation. Regional model differences, software rollout schedules, inventory, and street prices require local verification.
No independent benchmark, battery trial, camera shootout, or owner survey is established here. The recommendations describe what the published hardware and support policies enable; they do not claim measured superiority in performance, endurance, image quality, brightness, or charging time.
