The reported India-market Edge 70 Pro+ adds a 50MP periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom and 15W wireless charging; the Edge 70 Pro comparison model lacks those features. Both are reported to share a 6,500mAh battery, Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, and high-refresh-rate 6.8-inch display. The Pro+ is the more capable choice for zoom photography and wireless charging, while the Pro may offer better value if those extras do not matter. These names and specifications are not confirmed as interchangeable across regions, so verify the exact local model before buying.
What is different between the Edge 70 Pro+ and Edge 70 Pro?
The clearest reported distinctions are the Pro+’s dedicated telephoto camera and wireless charging. The comparison source describes the Pro+ as having a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and up to 50x Super Zoom. It says the compared Pro has a 50MP main camera and 50MP ultrawide camera but no dedicated telephoto camera. Motorola’s official announcement also describes a 50MP periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom and 50x Super Zoom Pro for a phone called Edge 70 Pro; because the names and regional SKUs may differ, that announcement does not establish that every Edge 70 Pro sold worldwide has the Pro+ configuration.
For wireless charging, the comparison reports 15W on the Pro+ and none on its Pro model. Motorola’s regional information does not describe one universal configuration: its official announcement lists 15W wireless charging for the Edge 70 Pro, while Motorola UK’s support specifications list 90W wired charging without wireless charging and Motorola LATAM specifications list 15W wireless charging. Check the specification page for the country and exact SKU you plan to purchase.

The India comparison lists both phones with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, Android 16-based Hello UI, and a 6,500mAh battery. Motorola UK independently lists the Edge 70 Pro with that processor, Android 16, a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, and 8GB or 12GB RAM options. These are reported shared platform details, not proof that all regional versions use identical components or configurations.

Both are described in the comparison as having a 6.8-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED display, up to 144Hz refresh, and up to 5,200 nits peak brightness. Motorola UK’s official support specifications list a 6.8-inch, 2772 x 1272 display with up to 144Hz and 5,200 nits peak brightness for the Edge 70 Pro.
The comparison reports IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H protection for both models. It also gives a 190g weight, but Motorola UK lists the Edge 70 Pro’s weight as finish-dependent: 183g for certain finishes and 190g for acetate. Treat weight as finish- and region-specific rather than a universal figure.

Which phone makes more sense for your needs?
Choose the Pro+ if you want optical zoom
A dedicated 3.5x optical-zoom camera gives the reported Pro+ a distinct hardware advantage for distant subjects over a phone without a dedicated telephoto camera. The stated 50x Super Zoom figure is a maximum zoom mode, not the same thing as 50x optical zoom.
Choose the Pro+ if wireless charging matters
The comparison describes the Pro+ as supporting 15W wireless charging, but regional specifications conflict. Verify that the specific phone sold in your market supports it. Motorola says its compatible TurboPower 15W wireless charger is sold separately.

Consider the Pro if the extras do not justify the price gap
If optical zoom and wireless charging are not priorities, the comparison’s reported shared battery, processor, display, and core camera resolutions suggest the Pro could provide much of the same everyday experience for less at the historical India prices above. This is a specification-based assessment, not a hands-on performance comparison.
What should you verify before buying?
- Exact regional name and SKU: The Pro+ name and India pricing come from the 91mobiles comparison, while Motorola’s official announcement and support pages use Edge 70 Pro. The available information does not establish that the India Pro+ and international Pro are identical hardware SKUs.
- Wireless charging: Motorola’s regional pages differ. Confirm the feature on the official page for your country and the precise retail model.
- Storage, finish, and weight: Motorola’s regional specifications vary in some details; check the configuration you are ordering rather than relying on a generic model name.
- Software support: 91mobiles says both models receive three major Android upgrades and five years of security patches. Motorola UK instead states “Up to 3 years” for OS upgrades and security patches in one combined entry. These statements do not establish a five-year security-patch promise for every region or SKU; confirm the applicable terms with Motorola for your model.
Charging and battery claims
Motorola says 90W TurboPower wired charging requires a Motorola 90W charger or higher, and 15W wireless charging requires its TurboPower 15W wireless charger; both are sold separately. Compatibility and wireless support depend on the regional phone configuration.

Motorola’s 2026 announcement gives manufacturer-tested estimates of up to 78 hours of music streaming, 29 hours of video playback, and 26 hours of gaming. Motorola qualifies these results as estimates affected by network, settings, temperature, battery condition, and use; they are not independent comparative test results. The announcement states a typical battery capacity of 6,500mAh and rated capacity of 6,300mAh.
