The Motorola Edge 70 Max has the stronger listed chipset and higher-resolution display; the vivo S2 5G offers two stated storage options and a published software-support commitment. There is no dependable price difference to quote from the available listings: the displayed vivo prices conflict, and the figures are not a confirmed like-for-like live comparison. The specifications below are tied to Motorola’s US support page and vivo’s India product and store pages, so check your local variant and current price before buying.
Motorola Edge 70 Max vs vivo S2 5G specifications
This comparison uses Motorola’s published Edge 70 Max specifications and vivo India’s S2 information. Some details—particularly Motorola’s camera configuration and refresh rate—come from a third-party comparison rather than the cited Motorola specification excerpt.

Performance: Motorola’s listed chipset is higher-tier
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 gives the Edge 70 Max the stronger processor specification on paper compared with the S2’s Dimensity 7360-Turbo. That suggests Motorola is the more performance-focused option, but no equivalent independent head-to-head test is established here, so it is not proof of a particular gaming frame rate or real-world speed advantage.

Display: sharper Motorola panel, slightly larger stated vivo diagonal
The listed Motorola resolution of 1440 × 3168 is higher than the vivo S2’s 2800 × 1260, while vivo’s stated diagonal is fractionally larger: about 6.83 inches versus Motorola’s 6.82 inches. The S2 page specifies 120Hz. A 144Hz figure for the Motorola appears in the third-party comparison, but it is not confirmed in the cited official Motorola specification excerpt; verify the local official listing before relying on it.
Battery and charging: similar capacity, different charging options
The nominal capacities are close—7100mAh for Motorola and 7050mAh for vivo—so capacity alone cannot establish which phone lasts longer. Motorola lists 90W wired charging, 25W magnetic wireless Qi2, and 5W wired reverse charging; vivo lists 44W fast charging.

Motorola also states “up to 73 hours” of battery life and “up to 42 hours” of continuous video playback on its US support page. Motorola describes these as approximate figures under continuous use and optimal network conditions, with actual performance varying. vivo’s India page claims 33 hours of video playback, 43.7 hours of local music playback, 49 hours of 5G calls, and 12.6 hours of Free Fire gaming; the page does not state a year. These manufacturer claims do not share an established test protocol, so they cannot fairly rank the phones’ endurance.

Cameras: compare verified hardware cautiously
vivo’s official India page identifies a 50MP main camera, a 2MP bokeh camera, and a 32MP front camera. The listed Motorola rear setup—50MP + 8MP + 2MP—and 32MP front camera come from 91mobiles, not the cited official Motorola specification excerpt. Confirm Motorola’s camera hardware for your region before making a purchase decision. Megapixel counts describe resolution, not image quality; sample photos and reviews using the exact regional models are more useful for judging camera performance.

Price difference: the available figures do not establish a reliable winner
The price snapshots are inconsistent. vivo’s India E-Store showed ₹42,999 for a selected 8GB/128GB S2 offer, with an MRP of ₹66,999, while 91mobiles displayed ₹39,990 for vivo and ₹53,742 for Motorola with Amazon price references. These are source-specific snapshots, not guaranteed current offers or a verified like-for-like comparison.
Before comparing totals, check the same purchase date, storage variant, seller type, warranty, and delivery region. In particular, the vivo 8GB/128GB offer should not be treated as equivalent to the Motorola’s listed 256GB configuration. Check the current listings at the vivo India E-Store and the 91mobiles comparison; prices and stock can change.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Max if…
- You prioritize the stronger listed processor and higher display resolution.
- You want the listed 256GB UFS 4.1 storage configuration.
- You value the additional charging modes, including magnetic wireless charging, and the local price is competitive.
Choose the vivo S2 5G if…
- You want a choice between 128GB and 256GB storage.
- You prefer a slightly larger stated display diagonal and a refresh rate specified as 120Hz on vivo’s product page.
- You value vivo’s stated three generations of OS updates and five years of security updates.
There is no fully supported overall winner without a live, equivalent-variant price check and confirmation of regional Motorola camera, refresh-rate, and software-support details. Motorola’s specifications look stronger for processing and resolution; vivo’s published support commitment and storage choices may matter more to other buyers.
