Motadata announced ObserveOps Infinity as generally available in August 2026, positioning it as a single-edition observability platform built around a pipeline that processes telemetry before it reaches storage. The idea is to parse, mask, enrich, and govern data in motion rather than treat collection and storage as the whole job. Those capabilities and the claimed hardware savings are vendor statements, not independently verified performance results.
What “builds the data layer first” means
An observability pipeline sits between telemetry sources and storage. Motadata describes ObserveOps Infinity’s pipeline as a control plane that handles logs, events, traps, and flows as they enter the platform. Its stated sequence is to parse data into structured fields, mask sensitive information in motion, add operational context, and apply retention policies before storage.
That sequence matters because raw telemetry is harder to search and govern consistently. Parsing makes fields usable for queries and analysis; masking is intended to reduce exposure of sensitive values; and enrichment can associate incoming data with configuration items, sites, owners, and services. These are descriptions of the product’s design and purpose, not proof of a particular security or operational outcome. Motadata’s launch announcement says the pipeline is included in the base platform rather than sold as a separate SKU.
What is included, and what is metered separately?
Motadata says Infinity replaces four previous editions with one edition and meters the platform according to what a customer monitors. The announcement describes monitored devices as one metering basis, while optional Flow, Log, NCCM, APM, and RUM modules have their own units; Log and Flow are counted per source and exporter. It does not publish a rate card, contract minimum, or worked pricing example, so this information does not establish what a deployment will cost.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For a quote, ask Motadata to define how it counts monitored devices, sources, and exporters, and how optional module units, retention, traffic bursts, topology, and support affect the total. A single edition simplifies the edition choice, but it does not mean every workload has the same commercial footprint.
How the documented deployment options differ
Motadata’s deployment guide describes several topologies. The appropriate one depends on where the application and database need to run, how far apart sites are, how collectors connect, and what resilience and security policies require.

| Topology | Application and storage arrangement | Practical consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Single-box | The ObserveOps application and MotaStore database run on one virtual machine or bare-metal server. | Consolidates the documented components on one host; suitability depends on workload and local requirements. |
| Distributed | The application and MotaStore are separated across physical or virtual machines. | The guide associates this arrangement with security or policy requirements that call for separation. |
| Multi-site | A central application and database receive data from collectors at remote sites, with centralized visualization at the main site. | Collector placement and connectivity between remote locations and the central site are part of the design. |
The guide also covers high-availability and disaster-recovery arrangements involving primary and secondary components, observer synchronization, virtual IPs, and heartbeat exchange. Some disaster-recovery failover examples require manual action; do not assume every failure is handled automatically. Consult the procedure for the selected topology and confirm which steps are automated.
Motadata claims an equivalent deployment may require 30% to 40% less hardware. The company calls this an indicative range that varies with workload, device mix, retention, and topology, and says deployments are sized against its sizing matrix. The launch announcement provides no independent benchmark, methodology, or named customer deployment to validate the figure. Treat it as a vendor estimate, not a guaranteed saving; request the sizing assumptions and a like-for-like benchmark for your environment.

What the documentation says about topology maps and APM
Network and infrastructure maps
For network topology, Motadata documents a scheduled or on-demand scanner that queries neighboring devices using supported Layer 2 or Layer 3 protocols. Cloud, virtualization, software-defined networking, and hyperconverged infrastructure maps instead depend on collected polling data. The relevant monitors therefore need to be discovered, configured, and actively returning data.
Documented examples include AWS and Azure; VMware ESXi and vCenter, Proxmox VE, KVM, Citrix Xen, and Hyper-V; Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN and Cisco ACI; and Nutanix. These are examples in the vendor documentation, not a guarantee that every product, version, or configuration is currently supported. See Motadata’s topology documentation and verify compatibility for the specific environment.

Application performance monitoring
The APM documentation describes traces collected with MotaAgent and displayed in overview dashboards, transaction summaries, and flame charts. It lists Java, .NET, PHP, Node.js, Python, and Go support. That language list does not establish compatibility with every framework or release: verify the current agent and version matrix against the applications you intend to monitor.

Motadata says event correlation, anomaly detection, and runbook automation ship in Infinity’s base today. The company describes agentic capabilities as planned releases on the same platform and license, not as features already generally available. Its launch materials frame structured, governed telemetry as a foundation for safer agentic AI; that is the vendor’s rationale, not a demonstrated safety result.

Before relying on automation, ask which functions are available in your region and deployment, what actions require human approval, and how permissions and audit trails work. The launch announcement does not provide a technical security evaluation showing that automation is safe in every operational setting.
Questions to settle before choosing a topology or quote
- Which devices, sources, and exporters count toward the proposed metering, and how are optional module units calculated?
- What retention policies and telemetry volumes are assumed in the sizing and quote, including bursts?
- Does the security or policy design require application and database separation?
- For multiple sites, where will collectors sit, and what connectivity is required to reach the central application and database?
- Which high-availability and disaster-recovery actions are automatic, and which require an operator?
- What exact product, framework, and agent versions are supported for required topology maps and APM traces?
- Can Motadata provide a like-for-like sizing comparison with assumptions for workload, device mix, retention, and topology?
