There is no reliable single monthly price without measuring the average wall power of your exact Beelink setup while it runs the stream workload, then multiplying its energy use by your electricity tariff. For a 730-hour average month, use average watts × 0.73 × your local price per kWh. Watching YouTube and broadcasting a live stream are different workloads, so playback or idle readings are not a dependable estimate of live-encoding cost.
Calculate the electricity cost
Use this formula for continuous operation:
Average wall watts ÷ 1,000 × hours operated × price per kWh
A 730-hour month is a convenient average: 8,760 hours in a year divided by 12. At that duration, the calculation simplifies to average watts × 0.73 = monthly kWh. Multiply the resulting kWh by your electricity rate. For an exact bill period, use the actual number of operating hours rather than 730.
Measure at the wall. An adapter’s maximum rating and a processor’s TDP do not tell you the computer’s actual average consumption. If you want the cost of the whole streaming station, include equipment that stays on, such as its display and peripherals.

Illustrative energy calculations
These are arithmetic examples, not measured 24/7 live-stream workloads. Multiply the kWh figure by your own tariff to calculate cost.

What Beelink power readings do—and do not—tell you
EQi13 Pro playback reading
An iTechGuides report attributes a wall-power reading of 32–34.3 W to CNX Software’s 2025 test of a Beelink EQi13 Pro playing YouTube at 8K/60 in Firefox. The described setup included Wi-Fi 6, a USB keyboard-and-mouse dongle, and a connected pen display. That reading works out to about 23.4–25.0 kWh over 730 hours, but it is a playback reference—not a measurement of encoding and sending a live stream, and not a guaranteed figure for other Beelink models. EQ14 operating-state readings
A separate iTechGuides report attributes these EQ14 readings to MiniPCLab: 6.2 W idle, 8–10 W under light load, and 18–22 W under full CPU load. They describe those PC states; they do not establish what an EQ14 draws while playing a YouTube playlist or encoding a live stream. Read the EQ14 report.
No cited controlled, sustained test establishes the live-encoding wall power of your exact Beelink model, encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene. Do not label playback, idle, or full-load figures as the cost of running your particular stream.

Measure your own streaming setup
- Define what you are measuring. Decide whether the estimate is for the mini PC alone or the complete station. Include the monitor and peripherals if they remain powered during streaming.
- Connect a plug-in electricity usage monitor. Use one that displays wall watts or accumulated kWh. A wall meter measures the actual setup rather than inferring use from component ratings.
- Run the actual workload. Use the same video or production, encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity you intend to keep running. Let consumption stabilize and measure for a representative period. A total kWh reading over a known duration can be more useful than a momentary watts display.
- Calculate the period’s energy and cost. If you recorded average watts, use watts ÷ 1,000 × hours. If you recorded accumulated kWh, scale it to the billing period if necessary. Multiply kWh by your applicable local price per kWh.
- Repeat after meaningful changes. Re-measure if you change resolution, encoder, frame rate, scene complexity, peripherals, or cooling conditions. Those changes can alter both performance and power consumption.
For a fair comparison between Beelink models or configurations, use the same stream workload, display and peripherals, measurement duration, and tariff. Compare measured average wall watts, energy over the same period, and whether each system can sustain the chosen stream’s quality and stability.
Why streaming workload matters
Watching a video is not the same task as encoding and sending a broadcast. A prerecorded playlist with a static scene may place different demands on a system than a production with multiple sources or complex scenes. OBS notes that CPU requirements vary considerably with the selected encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity; meeting basic system requirements does not guarantee a machine can stream or record a particular workload. YouTube describes encoder streaming as an option for screen sharing, external audio or video equipment, and more advanced production. Its guidance recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the actual stream and recommends RTMPS. First-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Include more than electricity in a cost comparison
The electricity formula estimates power cost, not the total cost of operating a local streaming setup. A useful comparison with a hosted option should also account for any hardware purchase and the hosted service’s current price, included storage, quality limits, and terms. Check those details before choosing; they can change, and a low power reading alone does not establish streaming stability.
