Microsoft 365 users reported access problems associated with Global Secure Access (GSA) on October 13, 2026, but the available reports do not confirm that every user in the UK and Germany was affected—or establish the incident’s full geographic scope or current status. Administrators should verify the tenant-visible Microsoft 365 Service health advisory before treating reports or a quoted mitigation as an official incident update.
What happened
Reports posted on October 13 described trouble accessing Global Secure Access, Entra sign-in, Outlook, Teams and other Microsoft services. Participants in a same-day r/sysadmin discussion mentioned Germany as well as Austria, Denmark, France and Belgium. Experiences varied: some participants reported unaffected services or users. These accounts indicate a developing connectivity problem, not a verified map of affected countries or proof that all users in the UK and Germany were impacted.
People in the discussion cited Microsoft incident ID MO1505952, titled “Users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services.” One participant reproduced a statement attributed to Microsoft’s Service Health Center: “We’ve identified a configuration issue affecting how connection requests are processed within Global Secure Access (GSA) infrastructure, resulting in connectivity issues with Microsoft 365 services. We’re deploying a configuration change to remediate the issue and restore connectivity.” The wording and mitigation are relayed by a participant; confirm them in your tenant’s official advisory before quoting them as verified Microsoft guidance.

Why a GSA issue can affect Microsoft 365
Microsoft’s Global Secure Access operations guide explains that the Microsoft traffic profile routes Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft service traffic through GSA infrastructure. If the profile or its connection processing is disrupted, traffic may fail or become unreliable before it reaches the cloud service. Microsoft notes that disruption to this profile can have immediate effects on Teams, Exchange and SharePoint.

- TRUSTED PASSKEY TECHNOLOGY: Uses the latest passkey standards (FIDO2/WebAuthn & FIDO U2F) but does not support One-Time Passwords. For complex needs, check out the YubiKey 5 Series.
- BUILT TO LAST: Made from tough, waterproof, and crush-resistant materials. Manufactured in Sweden and programmed in the USA with the highest security standards.
This routing relationship makes GSA a plausible point to investigate when several Microsoft services fail together. It does not, by itself, prove that an individual user’s problem is caused by GSA; tenant configuration, policy evaluations and user or device conditions can also affect access.
How administrators should verify the incident
- Open the tenant’s Service health page. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Health > Service health. Look for MO1505952 and review its last-updated time, affected services, stated user impact, status and update feed. Microsoft’s Service health instructions explain that administrators can report an issue if none is listed and subscribe to incident email notifications.
- Check the scope stated in the advisory. Use the tenant-visible record—not regional user reports—to establish which services and customers Microsoft identifies as affected, what start time it gives, and whether the issue is ongoing or resolved. The retrieved discussion does not establish those details authoritatively.
- Correlate reports with logs. Compare affected users’ times and symptoms with Global Secure Access traffic logs and Microsoft Entra sign-in logs. Review Conditional Access evaluations, device compliance, recent policy changes, traffic-forwarding rule changes and whether expected Microsoft 365 endpoints are still included. These are troubleshooting checks described in Microsoft’s GSA operations guide; they can help distinguish a service incident from a tenant-specific or user-specific access problem.
- Use Microsoft’s status labels precisely. Microsoft defines “Service degradation” as a problem that may make a service slower, intermittently interrupted or leave a feature unavailable. “Service interruption” means access is significantly and consistently affected. “Service restored” means Microsoft has confirmed corrective action resolved the underlying problem. Check the current advisory rather than inferring status from user reports.
Should you disable Global Secure Access?
A participant in the discussion said they were telling users to disable GSA, but the cited official operations guidance does not establish that as the incident-specific mitigation. Do not present disabling GSA as Microsoft’s recommendation on the strength of that post alone. Follow your organization’s change controls and the mitigation instructions in the verified tenant advisory; an unplanned routing change could alter how users reach Microsoft services.

What is still unconfirmed
- The official affected-service and country list, including whether Microsoft confirms the UK and Germany scope implied by the headline.
- The incident’s authoritative start time, latest status, customer-impact details and resolution time.
- Whether the quoted configuration issue and configuration change appear in the official tenant-visible advisory exactly as the discussion reports them.
Because the available public discussion is informal and reports vary by location and user, it should be treated as a signal to check Service health—not as a substitute for Microsoft’s incident record.
