Microsoft 365 Business Standard is a business subscription that combines desktop, web, and mobile productivity apps with cloud services for work. Its clearest difference from Business Basic is that Standard adds desktop versions of core apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Business Premium builds on the app and service offering with advanced security and device management.
What Microsoft 365 Business Standard includes
Business Standard bundles productivity apps with cloud services. Microsoft’s plan comparison lists desktop, web, and mobile versions of core apps, along with 1 TB of cloud storage per user and custom business email. The plan chooser also highlights webinars with attendee registration and reporting, collaborative workspaces using Microsoft Loop, and Clipchamp. The exact collaboration and meeting entitlements depend on the plan configuration. Teams is offered in a Teams-included configuration, so check the plan being purchased rather than assuming every Business Standard subscription includes the same Teams access.

These are tier-level distinctions, not a guarantee that every feature in a named Microsoft service is included. Who can use the plan, and what affects the price?
Microsoft’s US plan comparison presents its business plans for organizations with 1–300 employees. That range is tied to Microsoft’s US page, accessed October 7, 2026; check the local plan page for availability and terms in another country.
There is no single price that applies to every Business Standard configuration. On October 7, 2026, Microsoft’s US page for plans with Teams showed $14.00 per user per month billed yearly, while a separate US comparison page showed $12.50 per user per month billed yearly. These are different page offers or configurations, not a universal price. Confirm the country, whether Teams is included, billing term, and current offer on Microsoft’s live plans and pricing page before buying.

How to decide whether Business Standard fits
- Choose Basic if web and mobile apps meet your needs and desktop app access is not required.
- Consider Standard if staff need desktop Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook alongside the included cloud services.
- Compare Premium if advanced security or device management is a requirement.
- Check the exact plan configuration and service-level features, especially for Teams and meetings, before committing.
