City Edition is the NBA uniform category; Vice is a Miami Heat design theme used for some City Edition uniforms. Vice City is different: it names a one-night Heat event on Nov. 18, 2026, tied to Grand Theft Auto VI. As of Oct. 3, 2026, Miami has announced a new uniform for that game but has not revealed its design.
What do “City Edition,” “Vice,” and “Vice City” mean?
- City Edition: A seasonal NBA uniform category for designs that tell a story about a team or its city. The name does not prescribe one particular visual style.
- Vice: A Miami Heat design family associated with Miami-inspired references and pastel pink and blue accents. Earlier Vice looks were released as City Edition uniforms.
- Vice City: The name of Miami’s announced Nov. 18, 2026 event against Milwaukee, scheduled for the eve of Grand Theft Auto VI’s release. The Heat say there will be a special court and a new uniform for the night, but have not shown that uniform’s appearance. Miami HEAT’s event page calls it “new, completely reimagined.”
In short, a Vice jersey can be a City Edition uniform, but “City Edition” is broader than Vice—and the announced Vice City uniform is a new event-specific design, not simply another name for an older Vice jersey.
How the older Vice designs differ

City Edition does not always mean Vice
The Heat have used City Edition to tell stories beyond the Vice design family. Miami’s 2023–24 “Heat Culture” uniform centered on “Heat Culture” and Pat Riley’s team mantra. It is a useful example of why the category name describes the type of release, not a fixed palette or a single ongoing jersey design. Miami’s announcement explains that theme.

Miami’s event page links to a Vice City apparel collection in the Miami HEAT Store, and Axios reported on Oct. 2, 2026, that the team had launched a Vice City clothing collection. Those facts establish that related apparel is available; they do not establish that the game-night uniform itself is for sale. The uniform’s appearance has not been disclosed, so there is no basis to identify a specific retail jersey as that unrevealed design. Axios described the existing Vice jerseys as popular, but that is the publication’s characterization, not a reported sales total or ranking.
