mcp-use connects MCP server development with interactive app views, local inspection and a documented deployment path. Its TypeScript workflow lets a developer define typed tool inputs and outputs, optionally attach a React view to a tool, run and inspect the application locally, then build and deploy it through the CLI. The deployment commands target Manufact Cloud; the project also documents client, agent and Python components, so mcp-use is an ecosystem rather than one all-in-one package.

What mcp-use is—and what “full-stack” means here

The mcp-use project describes itself as a full-stack MCP framework for building MCP servers and interactive MCP Apps. Its TypeScript documentation also covers clients and agents. In this context, “full-stack” refers to connecting server-side MCP tools and their contracts with interactive views, plus providing development and deployment tools. It does not mean every capability is confined to a single package or that all workflows use TypeScript.

The project says mcp-use builds on the official TypeScript SDK v2 and adds first-class Views, typed tool-to-UI contracts, a stateless runtime, an Inspector, screenshot verification, agent-oriented CLI workflows and deployment. These are the project’s descriptions of its design, not an independent evaluation. See the mcp-use repository and README and its TypeScript package README for the project’s overview and component links.

How a tool can return data and render a view

A documented pattern is to declare a tool with Zod input and output schemas, have it return ordinary text alongside structured content, and bind it to a named React View. The view can read the tool’s state and display the structured result. The tool contract and the interface are therefore linked parts of one MCP server application: a client can receive tool results while an MCP App can present them in a purpose-built view.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

This pattern is useful when a plain text response is not the clearest way to present the result—for example, when a tool returns structured information that benefits from a dedicated interface. The framework provides the connection between the tool and view; the application developer still defines the schemas, tool behavior and UI.

From scaffold to local inspection

The project’s getting-started documentation describes a workflow that begins with a generated application and continues in the browser-based Inspector. The current repository README shows the scaffold command in both forms below:

npx create-mcp-use-app@latest
  1. Create the project. Run one of the scaffold commands in the directory where you want the application generated.
  2. Start the development script. The generated application serves an MCP endpoint and makes the Inspector available in a browser.
  3. Define and try tools. Add tools and their schemas, and bind a React view where the app needs one. Use the Inspector to inspect and invoke tools during development.
  4. Build for production. Use the project’s documented production build workflow before deploying.

The TypeScript getting-started guide covers the welcome workflow. A generated project gives you a place to develop and inspect; it does not establish that a particular app is production-ready without configuration, secrets, hosting choices or operational review.

How deployment works, and where it runs

The CLI reference names Manufact Cloud as the target for its deployment commands. The documented default flow links deployment to GitHub. A separate --no-github mode uploads local source to a platform-managed repository instead. The CLI reference also documents options for organization selection, environment variables and headless invocation.

For a client that needs to connect to a locally running server during testing, the README describes starting a tunnel from the Inspector or running mcp-use dev --tunnel. This is a development-testing path; it is distinct from deploying the application. Consult the CLI reference for the current commands and options, since deployment settings and requirements can depend on the project and account.

Manufact’s GitHub organization describes Manufact as a cloud platform for Model Context Protocol and says it open-sourced mcp-use. The available documentation establishes a deployment path, but not service pricing, regional availability, a service-level commitment or referral terms. The Manufact/mcp-use GitHub organization provides the organization’s description.

Components, license and what to verify

The TypeScript package README points to a broader set of project components: server tools, resources and prompts; clients; agents; interactive views; an Inspector; a tunnel; and project scaffolding. The repository also points to TypeScript and Python documentation. Treat these as related components and documented workflows, not proof that every feature is part of one package or that each is available through the same language interface.

The Manufact organization page lists the public mcp-use repository as MIT licensed. For legal decisions or version-specific implementation work, check the license file and package version for the exact code you use; a project-level listing does not replace reviewing the applicable files.

How to assess performance and compare frameworks

The current README, viewed in 2026, reports 10,982 ops/s for mcp-use v2. This is a project-published benchmark figure. The captured table does not provide enough information about hardware, workload or methodology to predict performance for a particular application or establish an independently replicated result. Do not treat it as general proof that mcp-use is faster than alternatives; the other comparison figures in that table have the same evidence limitation.

When comparing mcp-use with another MCP framework, examine the factors that affect your own implementation:

  • Language and SDK basis: Which languages and SDKs are supported for the workflow you need?
  • Tool-to-UI relationship: Can server tools and interactive views share typed contracts, or must you build that connection separately?
  • Client and agent support: Are the relevant components available, and in which packages or languages?
  • Development and testing: What Inspector, invocation and local-server testing workflow is documented?
  • Deployment and hosting: What deployment options exist, and does the documented path depend on a particular hosting platform?
  • License and evidence: Check the license for the version you plan to use, and look for benchmark methods that match your workload before relying on performance claims.

The README names alternatives in its comparison table, but the available benchmark information is not sufficient to adjudicate those frameworks independently. Treat the table as a starting point for questions, not as a general ranking.
