Its 6.3 kg (13.9 lb) weight and grab handle make it portable in the carry-it-to-the-garden sense, not pocketable. Marshall announced it on September 29, 2026, and calls it its “most portable party speaker yet”—a manufacturer positioning, not an independent comparison.
Is the Bromley 150 a party speaker or a Bluetooth boombox?
It has elements of both, but Marshall presents the Bromley 150 as a portable party speaker. Bluetooth playback, AUX connectivity, and a built-in battery cover the familiar boombox role. Lighting, front-and-back speakers intended to create Marshall’s “True Stereophonic 360° sound,” and two microphone/instrument inputs add functions associated with party and performance speakers.
The distinction is practical rather than a formal product category: the Bromley 150 can play music wirelessly, but it also provides ways to add live sound and atmosphere. Marshall’s sound descriptions are product claims; the available specifications do not establish how it sounds against other speakers.
What makes it portable—and what does portability mean here?
Marshall lists dimensions of 290 × 208 × 297 mm and a weight of 6.3 kg (13.9 lb), with an integrated grab handle. That makes the unit carryable between rooms or to an outdoor gathering, but substantial enough that “portable” should not be mistaken for lightweight or pocket-sized. Its replaceable battery allows playback away from a mains outlet.

- INTEGRATED STAGE LIGHTS: 3 presets to light up the dancefloor.

- DIRT & SPLASH RESISTANT (IP55): Ready for parties indoors and out.
Marshall specifies a rechargeable, replaceable LFP (LiFePO4) battery, identified as battery 415 and installed in the speaker. The product information does not establish compatibility with batteries from other Bromley models, so check that any replacement is specifically listed for the Bromley 150.
Battery figures are manufacturer claims
Marshall says the Bromley 150 provides 40+ hours of playtime, that a 20-minute charge can provide five hours of playtime, and that a full charge takes three hours. These are the manufacturer’s stated figures, not independently measured results; real runtime can depend on use and settings.

What party features does it add?
Lighting and all-around sound
Integrated stage lighting has three presets. Marshall also describes front and back speakers as delivering True Stereophonic 360° sound. These features make the design more party-oriented than a basic portable music box, though the product description alone cannot establish how evenly sound carries in a particular room or how the lighting performs in use.
Microphone and instrument inputs
Two XLR/6.35 mm combo inputs accept microphones or instruments. A microphone is not included, so karaoke or live-performance use requires compatible equipment and, where needed, suitable cables. Confirm connector compatibility with the device you plan to connect.

- NEXT-GENERATION BLUETOOTH: Acton III is ready for the future of Bluetooth technology and has been built to deliver next-generation Bluetooth features the moment they are available
- ICONIC DESIGN THAT STANDS APART: Marshall has taken its signature rock ’n’ roll home speaker line-up and given it a stripped-back look that makes a loud statement
- A MORE SUSTAINABLE APPROACH: While staying true to the iconic design that speaks to the brand’s heritage, Acton III has a PVC-free build that comprises 70% recycled plastic and only vegan materials.
Wireless and wired connections
Marshall lists Bluetooth 5.3, Auracast, multipoint, and SBC, AAC, and LC3 codecs. For wired connections, the speaker has a 3.5 mm AUX input and output, two XLR/6.35 mm combo jacks, and USB-C. Marshall specifies USB-C charging in and out at 5 V, 3 A.
How does it compare with a basic Bluetooth boombox?
The feature gap is clearest in the inputs, lighting, and replaceable battery. A conventional Bluetooth boombox is generally bought for music playback; the Bromley 150 also provides built-in party lighting and connections for microphones or instruments. The dimensions, weight, and battery details below are Marshall’s listed specifications, not comparative test results.

| Feature | Marshall Bromley 150 | What that means for the category |
|---|---|---|
| Portability | 290 × 208 × 297 mm; 6.3 kg (13.9 lb); integrated grab handle (Marshall specification) | Carryable, but not pocket-sized |
| Power | Replaceable LFP battery; Marshall claims 40+ hours of playtime | Designed for playback away from mains power |
| Party features | Integrated lighting with three presets; two mic/instrument combo inputs | Supports more than wireless music playback |
| Dust and water protection | IP55 (Marshall rating) | Rated for dust protection and water jets; not unrestricted water use |
| Sound specifications | 97 dB maximum sound pressure level at 1 m; 42 Hz–20,000 Hz frequency range (Marshall specifications) | Specifications do not substitute for independent listening comparisons |
There is not enough evidence here to rank its sound, loudness, or value against specific JBL, Sony, LG, or other speakers. Those judgments require comparable testing; the specifications support a feature-based distinction, not a performance verdict.
What do the sound specifications say—and not say?
Marshall lists a 6.5-inch, 40 W woofer; two 2-inch, 6 W full-range speakers; a 7.5-inch passive radiator; and 200 W total amplifier output across three Class D amplifiers. It also specifies a maximum sound pressure level of 97 dB at 1 m and a frequency range of 42 Hz–20,000 Hz.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can it handle outdoor use?
Marshall rates the Bromley 150 IP55. The rating indicates protection against limited dust ingress and water jets, but it does not mean the speaker is waterproof or suitable for submersion. Treat it as designed for some exposure to dust and splashes, not unrestricted water use.
Is it repairable, and what comes in the box?
Marshall says the battery, corner caps, handle, front grille, knobs, and battery lid are replaceable. It also says spare parts and authorised repair services are available through Marshall, with availability varying by market. The cabinet includes FSC 100%-certified wood, which Marshall says accounts for approximately 23% of product weight excluding accessories and packaging; that certification applies to the wood components, not the entire product. Other listed materials include PU leather and TPU plastic corner caps.
The box includes the speaker with battery 415 installed, a mains lead, a quick start guide, and a legal/safety sheet. It does not include a microphone.
What does the Bromley 150 cost, and when is it available?
Marshall’s Singapore-region product page displayed a price of $499.99 and preorder status with estimated shipping in mid-October. That is a regional listing that can change, not a universal price or confirmed shipping date for every market. Check Marshall’s product page for the price and availability in your country before buying. The same page’s delivery estimate is market-specific and should not be generalized.
