A browser-based Markdown previewer turns Markdown source into a formatted document, then adds specialized rendering for TeX math and Mermaid diagrams. The title also promises PDF export, but it does not establish how that export works or whether math, diagrams, and page breaks are preserved. Those implementation details matter as much as the feature list.
What each part of the previewer does
The feature set combines distinct jobs. A Markdown parser converts source text into HTML; a math renderer handles TeX expressions; Mermaid turns diagram definitions into graphics; and a separate export path produces the PDF. The exact parser, Markdown dialect, processing order, and export method for this project are not identified.
Markdown parsing
A parser determines how headings, lists, code blocks, links, and other Markdown constructs become HTML. Different parsers and dialects may handle extensions differently, so the feature name alone does not reveal which syntax the previewer accepts. The markdown-it v15.0.2 options reference is one example of a JavaScript parser that can be used in browser contexts; it is not evidence that this project uses markdown-it.

KaTeX provides browser APIs for rendering TeX expressions into a DOM element. Its API documentation describes options including throwOnError: false, which displays invalid TeX as source text instead of throwing an error. That is one possible graceful-error behavior, not a confirmed setting in this previewer.

KaTeX’s browser documentation describes CDN and self-hosted setups. When self-hosting, its stylesheet refers to font files by relative paths, so the font assets must remain reachable in the expected directory layout. The documentation’s CDN example uses KaTeX 0.19.0; check the current documentation before choosing a version for a new implementation.
Diagrams with Mermaid
Mermaid interprets text-based definitions for diagrams, charts, and visualizations, and its browser workflow can render diagrams as SVG. See the Mermaid usage documentation for its setup and runtime guidance. A Mermaid code block therefore needs more than ordinary Markdown rendering: the previewer must recognize it and pass its contents to Mermaid.

Version context is important for browser support. Mermaid v12.0.0 and later targets ES2024; its documentation names Safari 17.4 or later as a target and says it lints for Chromium 121 and Firefox 123 without committing to support those older versions. Confirm the current requirements for the specific Mermaid release and browsers you intend to support.

A plausible implementation parses Markdown into HTML, processes math and Mermaid definitions with their respective renderers, presents the result in the browser, and then sends the rendered document through a PDF export step. That is a general architecture inferred from the libraries’ documented capabilities, not a verified description of this project’s internals.
The order and boundaries between those steps affect behavior. For example, a parser must preserve the content that a math or diagram renderer needs to recognize; the preview must insert generated output safely; and export must capture or reproduce the finished document. The named libraries do not establish how this previewer handles those integration details.
What to check when Markdown may be untrusted
A live preview can process user-supplied text, so safety depends on the whole rendering pipeline—not just the math library. Markdown features, plugins, generated HTML, DOM insertion, diagram rendering, and resource loading each have configuration and security implications.

Raw HTML and Markdown parsing
The markdown-it safety guidance recommends either leaving raw HTML disabled and extending functionality with plugins, or enabling HTML only alongside an external sanitizer. Its options reference documents html as disabled by default. It also documents protections against dangerous URL schemes by default and cautions plugin authors about creating arbitrary element IDs and names from user-controlled input.
These are markdown-it recommendations and defaults, not proof of this project’s configuration. If a previewer enables raw HTML, establish what sanitization occurs and where; if it uses plugins, review how they handle untrusted content.

KaTeX input and error handling
KaTeX says its generated HTML should be safe from script or code-injection attacks, while also recommending sanitization as a general precaution. Its security guidance describes controls such as maxSize, maxExpand, and trust for untrusted input. That guidance does not make the complete preview pipeline automatically safe.
Invalid TeX also needs an intentional user-facing behavior. The API’s throwOnError: false option can display the invalid expression as text, but the project’s chosen handling is not established.
What the PDF feature does—and what remains unknown
The title states that the previewer exports PDFs, but it does not identify the mechanism. It does not establish whether export uses browser printing, a PDF library, or a server-side renderer, nor does it specify page size, pagination, font embedding, or fidelity for KaTeX and Mermaid output. No export test results are established either.
Before relying on the export for important documents, check the actual output with representative content: long code blocks, tables, several pages of text, math, diagrams, and images. Verify page breaks, readability, and whether visual elements appear in the PDF as they do in the browser preview. Those results depend on this project’s implementation and cannot be inferred from the feature names alone.

- Document handling: Are documents stored locally, or sent to another service? The feature list does not answer this.
