To improve a Logitech G733 microphone, first select it as the input device and check that it is unmuted. Then position its detachable boom consistently near your mouth, tune BLUE VO!CE in small steps, and compare the result in the app where you use the headset. If it sounds good in one place but poor in another, check that app’s input and processing settings before changing your microphone EQ.
Check that your computer and app are using the G733 microphone
Device selection and input level can affect voice quality more than a preset. Confirm the signal reaches your computer before adjusting filters.
On Windows
- Open Settings > System > Sound > Input.
- Select the Logitech G733 microphone as the input device.
- Speak and check whether the input meter responds. Run the microphone test if available, and confirm the headset is not muted.
In Discord
- Open User Settings > Voice & Video.
- Choose the G733 microphone under Input Device, rather than leaving the choice to an unintended default.
- Set a sensible input volume and use Discord’s mic test to hear how the signal comes through.

The G733 microphone is directional, so keep it in a consistent position near your mouth and speak toward it. Make small placement changes and record a short sample after each one. This is practical setup guidance, not a Logitech-published distance specification; avoid treating one exact distance or angle as mandatory.

Listen for whether your voice is clear and at a steady level, and whether breath sounds or plosives are distracting. If moving the boom improves intelligibility, there may be no need to add stronger processing.
Tune BLUE VO!CE one control at a time
Logitech lists the G733 as BLUE VO!CE-enabled gear. Its BLUE VO!CE workflow runs through input gain, EQ, signal cleanup, and effects. - Input gain: Adjust it if your voice is too quiet or the signal distorts. Logitech advises tuning gain for a clean signal; raising it too far can make the signal less usable.
- EQ: Use it to address a sound you can identify in your voice, rather than applying arbitrary boosts or cuts. Logitech describes EQ as a way to complement a voice or reduce unwanted sounds such as clicks and keystrokes.
- Noise reduction: Try it if steady background noise is audible. Check that it does not make speech sound thin or unnatural.
- Gate: A gate can reduce low-level sound when you are not speaking. If it cuts off the beginnings or ends of words, ease the setting or disable it.
- Compressor: Compression can help control level differences. Too much can make speech sound flattened or processed.
- De-esser and de-popper: These target sharp sibilant sounds and plosive bursts respectively. Use them only if those sounds are a problem in your recording.
- Limiter: A limiter can control peaks. It is not a substitute for setting input gain appropriately.
Presets can be a starting point, but the reviewed Logitech guidance does not establish universal numerical values that suit every voice, room, or application. If a change sounds worse, revert it and compare with the unprocessed baseline.
When the G733 sounds worse in Discord than in G HUB
Check Discord’s selected input device and input volume first. Then compare its noise suppression and other voice processing with the BLUE VO!CE settings you are using. Discord recommends trying Noise Suppression disabled to see whether audio quality improves. Toggle it and listen in a real call or recording; change one setting at a time so you can identify the cause. (Discord voice and video troubleshooting)

If the microphone sounds acceptable in a G HUB recording but not in Discord, that difference points you toward Discord’s device selection or processing rather than an automatic need to replace the headset.

Consider a replacement boom mic only if the included microphone is missing or damaged. Logitech’s G733 specification page currently lists no spare parts through that page; that does not establish that third-party replacements are unavailable.
