Download Logitech Unifying Software from Logitech’s official Software Downloads page, then open it from the Logitech Unifying folder in Windows or from Applications/Utilities on Mac. Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your device. Logitech says the software is no longer supported or maintained, so check first whether your device and operating system are supported by its recommended alternative, Logi Options+.
Before installing: check your device and receiver
Unifying Software is for Logitech devices and receivers that carry the Unifying logo. Check for the logo on both pieces of hardware; Logitech says a device marked with it can be used with any Unifying receiver. A receiver can pair with up to six Unifying devices.
You do not need to buy a receiver just to install the software. If you are replacing or switching receivers, Logitech says you must reconnect the device with Unifying Software. A replacement receiver must be Unifying-compatible; do not assume that a generic USB receiver will work.
Download and open Logitech Unifying Software
- Go to Logitech’s Software Downloads page through its Unifying support article. Use Logitech’s official pages rather than an unofficial installer source.
- Install the software if it is available for your system, then launch it:
- Windows: Start > Programs > Logitech > Unifying > Logitech Unifying Software.
- Mac: Applications/Utilities/Logitech Unifying Software. Logitech notes that Mac screens may look slightly different.
Logitech’s reviewed support pages do not identify the latest installer version or provide a version-by-version compatibility list for current Windows and macOS releases. If the official download page does not offer an installer for your system, do not rely on an unofficial download or assume compatibility.
#1 Best Overall
- TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT: This is not a standard plug-and-play receiver. It strictly requires -downloading the official Logitech Unifying Software to sync and pair with your compatible keyboard or mouse
Pair your keyboard or mouse
- On the Welcome screen, click Next.
- When prompted, turn the device off and then back on.
- When it is detected, test it in the window: type in the field for a keyboard or move the mouse.
- Confirm that it works and finish the setup.
If pairing does not work immediately, wait briefly and try the pairing steps again. Logitech’s instructions are in its Unifying receiver connection guide.
Should you use Unifying Software or Logi Options+?
These are not interchangeable choices for every Logitech device. Unifying Software provides the documented pairing flow for Unifying-ready hardware. Logitech states that it is “no longer supported or maintained” and recommends Logi Options+ for supported devices.

| Path | Use it for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Unifying Software | Pairing Unifying-ready devices with a Unifying receiver using Logitech’s documented setup steps. | Confirm the Unifying logo on both device and receiver, and check whether Logitech’s official download is available for your operating system. |
| Logi Options+ | Logitech software for supported mice and keyboards, where the device and operating system are supported. | Check Logitech’s Logi Options+ getting-started page for the applicable device and OS support before downloading. |
Logitech’s Options+ guidance is conditional: it says to download the app if you have a supported mouse or keyboard and use a supported OS version. The support information cited here does not enumerate the full compatibility list.
If you changed or replaced the receiver
A Unifying device can be paired with a different Unifying receiver, but Logitech says it must be reconnected through Unifying Software after the change. Verify that the new receiver carries the Unifying logo, then run the pairing steps above. The receiver’s capacity is up to six Unifying devices.
