If your Logitech G29 pedals are not working or registering wrong, first check the wheel’s power, pedal connection, USB connection, startup calibration, and game controls. These setup checks can identify a connection or mapping problem before you open the pedal unit or replace parts.
Check power, connections, and calibration
- Confirm the wheel has power. Connect the G29 to power and USB, then let it complete its startup calibration. Logitech describes the wheel rotating to both sides and returning to center during setup. If it does not calibrate, address the wheel’s power or USB connection before diagnosing the pedals. See Logitech’s G29/G920 pedal troubleshooting steps.
- Reseat the pedal plug. The pedal unit connects to a DB-9 port on the underside of the wheel unit. Unplug and firmly reconnect it; check the cable and plug for visible damage.
- Check software on PC. Logitech specifies Logitech Gaming Software version 8.70 or later for the PC troubleshooting steps in its support article. Follow Logitech’s current guidance for your system and software setup.
Check game controls and clutch support
Open the game’s control settings and verify that accelerator, brake, and clutch are assigned to the intended inputs. A pedal that appears to work backward may be inverted in the game rather than physically faulty; Logitech notes, “Some games may invert pedal controls.”
Test the clutch separately from the accelerator and brake. The G29 manual says clutch functionality depends on the game developer, and not every game supports it. Check the game’s supported controls and mapping before treating an unresponsive clutch as a hardware failure. See the G29 manual.

If the wheel is connected and the game mapping is correct but pedal values remain erratic, a problem inside the pedal unit becomes more plausible. Dust or hair around a potentiometer, a poor connection, or a worn component are possible causes described in iFixit’s G29 pedal potentiometer repair guide. This is a third-party repair path, not proof that every inaccurate reading has the same cause.
#1 Best Overall
- Load Cell Brake: Better muscle memory, optimal braking power; the 100kg load cell pressure detection brake delivers a superior driver feel and consistent car racing performance
- Customizable Sim Racing Pedals: Quickly adjust the feel of all three pedals with swappable gas/clutch springs and brake elastomers
- Fully Modular Design: Slide each pedal horizontally for perfect spacing or completely remove a pedal module for your preferred configuration
- Ultimate Durability: Developed with contactless Hall effect sensors, ensuring longevity and long-term accuracy

Disconnect the pedal unit before inspecting it. If you are not comfortable opening or testing the pedals, stop at the external checks and seek help from a repairer. Do not work on the unit while it is connected.
Repair a component or replace the pedal unit?
Choose a hardware option only after the setup checks point to the pedal assembly. A compatible replacement pedal unit is one route; repairing an individual pedal with a compatible potentiometer or wiring component is another. A specialist parts vendor lists replacement potentiometers and wiring looms for Logitech pedals, but fit can depend on the specific pedal revision. Review AXC Sim’s Logitech parts category and confirm exact compatibility before ordering.

- Consider an individual component if a repairer has identified a failed potentiometer or wiring part and can confirm the correct revision. This requires suitable repair skills and tools.
There is no reliable cost comparison established here. Check current prices and availability, and compare them only after confirming the fault and part compatibility.
