Attach the keyboard to its matching Combo Touch case, open the kickstand, and adjust the screen for typing. Detach the keyboard for viewing, or reposition the kickstand for sketching and reading. Combo Touch uses an iPad-specific fit, so check your iPad’s exact model and generation before buying or troubleshooting.
Attach the keyboard and choose a position
Combo Touch is a detachable keyboard case. Logitech describes four ways to use it: typing, viewing, sketching, and reading. The instructions and angles below come from Logitech’s guidance; the angle specification is specifically for the Combo Touch for iPad (10th Gen).
Typing
Attach the keyboard to the case, open the kickstand, and set the iPad at a comfortable angle. Logitech’s general positioning guidance describes an angle range of 20–60 degrees for the positions it covers. The 10th-generation model’s specification also lists 20–60 degrees; check the specification for your own variant before assuming its range is identical.

Detach the keyboard, open the kickstand, and adjust the iPad to the angle you want. This leaves the screen propped up without the keyboard in front of it.

Connect the keyboard and start typing
For the Combo Touch for iPad (10th Gen), Logitech specifies that the keyboard connects to and is powered by the iPad through its Smart Connector. Its specification describes the keyboard as iPad-powered, not as a Bluetooth keyboard. Connection details may differ by variant; use Logitech’s Combo Touch setup guide for the exact model you own rather than assuming a pairing process.

Use the trackpad
Logitech documents the following gestures for its Combo Touch trackpad guidance. The guidance does not identify every Combo Touch generation, so a gesture’s availability or behavior may vary by model and iPadOS version.
- One finger: Move the pointer and click. iPadOS also offers an optional tap-to-click setting.
- Two fingers: Scroll vertically or horizontally. Tap with two fingers for a secondary click, or pinch to zoom in and out.
- Three fingers: Swipe up to close the current app, swipe farther up to show all apps, or swipe left or right to switch apps.
With the keyboard connected, you can adjust trackpad options such as scrolling direction, cursor speed, and tap to click in iPadOS settings. If a gesture does not work as described, check support for your specific Combo Touch model.

Use the shortcut and media keys
Logitech’s shortcut-key guidance lists these functions. Your physical row may differ, so use the icons printed on your keyboard and check the specifications for your variant.
- Home
- Screen brightness down and up
- Show the onscreen keyboard
- Search
- Keyboard backlight brightness down and up
- Previous track, play or pause, and next track
- Mute and volume down or up
- Lock
Shortcut layouts are model-dependent. For example, Logitech’s 10th-generation specification includes Dictation and Screenshot in its listed row and does not list Lock in that excerpt. Its specification for the 7th- and 8th-generation iPad, 3rd-generation iPad Air, and 10.5-inch iPad Pro includes Lock. Check the actual keys and the documentation for your exact variant rather than expecting every function to appear on every Combo Touch.
Check that Combo Touch fits your iPad
Combo Touch is not a universal-fit case. Logitech publishes separate specifications for particular iPad models, including the 10th-generation iPad and variants for the 7th- and 8th-generation iPad, 3rd-generation iPad Air, and 10.5-inch iPad Pro. Those examples do not establish a complete compatibility list.
- Find your iPad’s model and generation in its settings or on the device.
- Match that information against the exact Combo Touch product listing or Logitech support page.
- Before troubleshooting connection or fit, confirm that the keyboard case is the variant made for that iPad.
Logitech’s setup guide and the specifications for the 10th-generation iPad model and the 7th- and 8th-generation iPad, 3rd-generation iPad Air, and 10.5-inch iPad Pro model describe specific resources and variants; verify your own model before relying on them.
