LG says 8 Ball Pool is coming to its Smart TVs running webOS 6.0 or later, including 2021 models. The Miniclip game is designed for LG’s Magic Remote, and a new Couch Play Mode lets two people compete on the same screen. LG’s October 1, 2026 announcement does not give an exact release time or a country-by-country rollout schedule, so check your TV’s app listing for local availability.
What LG and Miniclip announced
LG Electronics announced a partnership with Miniclip to bring 8 Ball Pool to LG Smart TVs. LG describes this as the game’s first arrival on a television screen. The announcement was published on October 1, 2026, and is available in LG’s Global Newsroom.
The TV release retains the familiar pool-game format but is adapted for the television and Magic Remote. Its TV-specific addition is Couch Play Mode, which lets two players compete head-to-head on the same screen.
Which LG TVs can run the game?
LG says the game will be available on Smart TVs running webOS 6.0 or later; the company identifies 2021 models as part of that range. The announcement does not provide a model-by-model compatibility list, so a TV’s year alone is not enough to confirm support. Check the webOS version on the TV itself and look for the game in its app listing.

The announcement also does not specify when the game will appear in each country or whether availability will roll out in stages. A compatible webOS version is the stated minimum, but the local listing is the practical check for whether the game can be installed where you are.
How the TV version is controlled
LG says 8 Ball Pool is optimized for the Magic Remote. Players can use it to aim, adjust shot power, and shoot. The announcement does not say that a separate console or game controller is required, nor does it establish that every Magic Remote generation has identical support.

What Couch Play Mode adds
Couch Play Mode is described by LG and Miniclip as an exclusive feature of this TV release. It allows two people to play against each other on the same screen, making the TV version suited to local head-to-head play rather than requiring each player to use a separate phone.
Is 8 Ball Pool free on LG TVs?
LG includes the game in its free gaming ecosystem, but says optional in-game items are available for purchase. That means the announcement supports calling the game free to access, not claiming that every item or feature is free.

What LG says about large-screen play
LG says that on displays larger than 100 inches—including its latest QNED evo and Micro RGB TVs—the game can appear at real-world scale, using a 7-foot pool table as the basis for the comparison. This is LG’s description of how the image can be presented, not an independently tested measurement or a promise that every display will reproduce a regulation-size table.

LG says its web-based gaming library includes more than 1,000 free-to-play titles. The company also reports 71 percent growth in total hours played and 50 percent growth in individual gaming sessions, based on its internal comparisons from January 2024 through May 2026. These are LG figures, not independent market measurements.
