If you want a LEGO replica of the original PlayStation, choose LEGO PlayStation 72306. It combines the console and its original controller with working Open and Power buttons and hidden scenes inspired by Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. For handheld nostalgia and a smaller, lower-priced build, consider Game Boy 72046; for Atari or NES displays, note that LEGO labels those sets retired.

The prices above are not directly comparable measures of value: PlayStation is an announced US suggested retail price, Game Boy’s amount was shown in LEGO’s US category, and the Atari and NES amounts appeared on retired product listings. Check local stock and pricing before buying.
Why choose LEGO PlayStation 72306?
The PlayStation set is the direct pick if the original Sony console is the reason you are shopping. LEGO describes it as a near 1:1-scale-style replica and includes the original controller, which plugs into the console. Pressing the Open and Power buttons operates the model’s features; they do not make it a playable console.
Two game-inspired dioramas add more than a plain console display: the Gran Turismo scene includes mini cars, while the Ape Escape scene features a red or blue monkey helmet. The scenes can be concealed, so the set can present as a console rather than keep every miniature on view.

When Game Boy is the better fit
Choose Game Boy 72046 if the appeal is a handheld rather than a living-room console. At 421 pieces, it is a much smaller build by piece count than the PlayStation, Atari, or NES sets. LEGO’s design emphasizes recognizable handheld details, including controls, volume and contrast details, a Game Pak slot, a stand, and interchangeable Game Paks and lenticular screens. Those details make it a different kind of display, not a scaled-down substitute for a console-and-TV setup. (LEGO product page)

When to consider the retired Atari or NES sets
Atari 2600 10306
The Atari is the option for a display built around the joystick-and-cartridge era. Alongside the console, it includes a joystick, three cartridges, small scenes inspired by games, and a concealed 1980s room. LEGO labels the set retired; its page’s displayed US price is not a reliable indication of what a retailer or reseller currently charges. (LEGO product page)
NES 71374
The NES set is distinguished by its included retro television. Turning a handle moves the screen through a scrolling display, adding a mechanical interaction to the presentation. It is not a playable NES. LEGO labels it retired, so check the seller, set condition, and actual asking price rather than treating the product page’s displayed figure as a current offer. Make the decision in this order
- Pick the console or gaming world you care about most. PlayStation, Game Boy, Atari, and NES are not interchangeable themes; the included game references may be the deciding factor.
- Match the display format to your space. The PlayStation is a wide console replica with concealed scenes; Game Boy is a handheld-style display; the Atari adds joystick and cartridge pieces; NES centers on a console-and-TV arrangement.
- Choose the interaction you want. PlayStation has working Open and Power buttons, while NES has a handle-operated scrolling screen. These are display features, not playable electronics.
- Check whether the set is currently sold and by whom. LEGO announced PlayStation’s general release for October 4, 2026; its US gaming category still showed “Coming Soon” when captured. Game Boy appeared in that category as well. LEGO labels Atari and NES retired, so availability may depend on other sellers.
- Compare the live price in your region. Use the announced PlayStation US price only as its stated US suggested price, and verify the current local offer for every set. For retired sets, compare condition and seller as well as price.
Piece count is a specification, not a dependable measure of build quality, difficulty, or value. LEGO’s product descriptions establish the models’ features, but do not provide a comparative hands-on test of the builds.

Because the LEGO US gaming category showed the PlayStation as “Coming Soon” when captured despite the announced general release date, check the live product page and retailer listing before making a purchase decision. LEGO’s gaming category also showed a SEGA Genesis Console at $39.99 at that time, but its individual listing and detailed specifications were not reviewed here; treat it only as another category option and verify its current details directly.
