If Larix Broadcaster stops streaming when your OnePlus screen locks, first check whether the app is still running and whether the stream has actually disconnected. Then review Larix’s battery and background-activity permissions in OxygenOS, loosening restrictions if your version offers that option. Larix says Android background streaming works by default until you explicitly close the app, but Android and OnePlus power management can still affect background activity.
First identify what stops when the screen locks
A dark screen alone does not show that Larix has stopped. Check the stream from its destination or another device, and check whether Larix remains active on the OnePlus phone. This separates two problems: Larix may still be running while the stream has disconnected, or the phone may have restricted the app in the background.
- The stream continues: screen lock is not stopping the broadcast; you may not need to change anything.
- Larix remains open but the stream disconnects: investigate the connection and Larix’s stream status as well as background permissions.
- Larix is no longer active: check whether it was explicitly closed or restricted by OxygenOS or Android power management.
Allow Larix to run in the background on OnePlus
Softvelum’s Larix FAQ says Android background streaming is available by default and that the app works in the background until explicitly closed. That describes Larix’s intended behavior; it does not guarantee that every phone’s power-management settings will allow a stream to continue indefinitely.
- Do not explicitly close Larix. After starting the stream, avoid force-stopping the app or dismissing it in a way that closes it. If you normally keep it in Recents, test whether leaving it there changes the result; locking an app in Recents is only a version-dependent suggestion, not a universal OnePlus fix.
- Open your phone’s current Settings and search for Larix. Look for its battery usage, battery optimization, or background-activity controls. OxygenOS 14 documents battery usage and background-activity controls, but the labels and location can differ on other OxygenOS versions and OnePlus models.
- Remove restrictive settings for Larix where available. If your installed software offers choices such as allowing background activity or avoiding optimization, try the less restrictive setting for Larix. Android distinguishes unrestricted, optimized, and restricted background states; manufacturers can add their own behavior.
- Test with the screen locked. Start a short stream, lock the screen, and check the stream from another device. Note whether Larix remains active and whether the stream itself stays connected.
If the menu names do not match, use Settings search or consult the manual for your phone and OxygenOS version rather than assuming another model’s path applies. OnePlus’s OxygenOS 14 manual is specific to that software version.

What changing battery settings can affect
Allowing more background activity can use more battery. Android and OnePlus document the connection between background activity and power use, but there is no established Larix-specific battery figure, so the added drain will depend on the phone and how you use it. If you need a long stream, test the setting and monitor battery use on your own device.
If Larix still stops
Changing background restrictions may not resolve every disconnection, and there is no established OnePlus-specific setting that guarantees Larix will stay live. Record the details below before seeking help; they can help distinguish a phone restriction from an app or stream issue.
