Is Larix Broadcaster free?
Yes. Larix Broadcaster is a free download, and its listings describe basic live encoding for protocols including SRT, RTMP/RTMPS, WebRTC WHIP, NDI HX2, RTSP, RIST, and Zixi. Free does not mean unlimited or watermark-free: the current Google Play listing says free streaming has a 30-minute limit and a watermark. The Apple listing also describes a default watermark that Premium removes.
What is included in Larix Premium?
Premium removes the free-tier restrictions and unlocks additional production capabilities. Feature descriptions vary in emphasis between the Google Play and Apple listings, so check the listing for the platform you use before subscribing.

Apple’s listing currently states iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 as system requirements elsewhere in its description, despite mentioning USB camera input on iPadOS 17 and later. Confirm current compatibility in the App Store listing for your device.

How much does Larix Premium cost?
Prices below are examples from US storefront listings, not universal prices. Google Play advertises Premium at $9.99 per month. The US Apple App Store currently lists Larix Premium at $9.99 and a one-year option at $119.00. Apple separately lists an NDI Streaming in-app purchase at $19.99; that is a distinct purchase, not the Larix Premium subscription.
These storefront figures differ in billing term and platform, so they are not a direct monthly-versus-annual comparison. Softvelum’s 2023 announcement says its quoted prices are for the United States and that final prices may vary by country and local taxes. Check the purchase screen in your own store for the current amount, currency, billing period, and applicable taxes.

Should you use the free version or pay for Premium?
The free tier may be enough if
- Your stream fits within the 30-minute limit stated by Google Play.
- You can accept the watermark.
- You do not need Premium-only features such as multiple simultaneous outputs, HEVC, Talkback, ABR, advanced overlays, or auto-start.
Premium may suit your workflow if
- You need longer streams without the listed time limit or watermark.
- You need to send a stream to multiple outputs at once.
- You rely on an unlock such as HEVC, Talkback, ABR, advanced overlays, or auto-start. Check that the feature appears in the listing for your platform.
