Keywords Everywhere alternatives depend on the work you need to do: use Google Keyword Planner for Google Ads-oriented planning, consider Semrush or Ahrefs for broader keyword research, and look at KWS Everywhere if unlimited searches and local coverage are priorities. Keywords Everywhere itself is most distinctive when you want keyword metrics alongside the browser pages where you already research.
Which Keywords Everywhere alternative fits your workflow?
| Tool | Best fit | What its published materials say it offers | Access and limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keywords Everywhere | Quick checks in a desktop browser | Inline metrics and keyword widgets on supported sites; paid features include search volume, CPC, competition, trend charts, bulk data and competitor-gap research. Keywords Everywhere FAQ | Free and paid access. Annual plans are listed at $84, $168, $480 and $1,440; credits expire after 12 months. Plan and credit details |
| Google Keyword Planner | Keyword planning within Google Ads | Google’s native keyword-planning workflow. Keywords Everywhere says its own search-volume data comes from Google Keyword Planner, while its extension displays figures inline across supported sites. Keywords Everywhere’s comparison | Available within Google Ads; the comparison page says volume may appear as ranges in some situations. Check Google Ads for current access requirements and display behavior. |
| Semrush | Broader keyword research and SEO workflows | Its keyword page describes suggestions and metrics including search volume, difficulty, CPC, intent and long-tail opportunities. The free tool is limited and powered by Keyword Magic Tool. Semrush Keyword Magic Tool | Free tool with limits; do not assume it includes all paid-suite features. Current plan limits and pricing should be checked on Semrush. |
| Ahrefs | Keyword idea generation across search engines | Its Keyword Generator describes six keyword-idea reports across Google, Bing, YouTube, Yahoo, Amazon and other engines. Ahrefs says its database contains over 8 billion queries; the accessed page does not specify a year for that figure. Ahrefs Keyword Generator | Consult Ahrefs for current query limits, paid features and pricing. |
| KWS Everywhere | Readers prioritizing unlimited searches or local keyword coverage | The vendor markets unlimited searches on paid access passes, local data for more than 40,000 locations, bulk analysis, competitor-gap analysis and live Google search metrics. These are vendor claims, not independent test results. KWS Everywhere | Paid access passes; check its site for current terms and limits. |
These tools do not all replace the same part of a workflow. A browser overlay reduces switching between pages; a dedicated research tool can support larger reports and broader SEO tasks; Keyword Planner keeps planning inside Google Ads. Choose by the workflow and data you actually need rather than by a universal “best” label.
What Keywords Everywhere does—and does not do
Its strength is research in context
Keywords Everywhere is a freemium desktop browser extension for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. The vendor describes its free tier as including keyword ideas, SEO metrics, social insights and AI prompt templates. Paid access adds search volume, CPC, competition, trend charts, bulk keyword work and competitor-gap features across supported sites. See the official FAQ for the vendor’s current feature description.
The extension is useful when you want metrics beside search results or other supported pages rather than in a separate research interface. Its advertised coverage includes more than 15 sites, but coverage and available metrics can vary by site and feature. The vendor says the extension has no mobile app and does not track keyword positions over time; it is not a rank tracker. Keywords Everywhere FAQ
#1 Best Overall
Understand the free-to-paid boundary
The free tier should not be mistaken for an unlimited source of paid search-volume data. The vendor says paid credits are used for volume, CPC and competition data; when credits run out, those metrics stop displaying until credits are added or the plan is upgraded. Credits expire after 12 months. Plan and credit details
How Keywords Everywhere pricing compares
Keywords Everywhere’s plan page listed the following annual prices and allowances when checked on October 7, 2026. Prices and terms can change, and the vendor identifies checkout as the price reference, so confirm the current configuration before subscribing. Plan and credit details
Rank #2
| Plan | Listed annual price | Credits | Seats | Other listed inclusions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | $84 per year | 100,000 | 1 | Core product |
| Silver | $168 per year | 400,000 | 3 | SEO Minion and premium ChatGPT prompts |
| Gold | $480 per year | 2,000,000 | 10 | Keyword Keg and RapidLevelUp courses |
| Platinum | $1,440 per year | 8,000,000 | 20 | Higher limits and priority support |
All figures above are the vendor’s listed plan terms, not a comparison of equivalent usage across competing services. Estimate how often you need paid metrics and how many people need seats before choosing: credits, seats, caps and bundled extras differ by plan.

Is Google Keyword Planner a better free alternative?
Google Keyword Planner is the closest comparison if your goal is planning keywords in Google Ads. Keywords Everywhere says its own search volumes use Google Keyword Planner data. It also argues that the extension presents exact monthly volumes inline across more sites, whereas Keyword Planner is accessed within Google Ads and may show ranges depending on campaign status. Those are the vendor’s descriptions of the difference, not an independent accuracy comparison. Keywords Everywhere’s comparison
Rank #3
Prefer Keyword Planner if you want to work in Google’s advertising environment. Prefer the extension workflow if seeing metrics alongside searches and other supported pages matters more than using a dedicated planning interface. Neither choice, on the evidence here, establishes that one source is more accurate for every query or market.
When to choose Semrush or Ahrefs instead
Choose Semrush for a wider SEO research workflow
Semrush’s keyword page describes keyword suggestions with search volume, difficulty, CPC, intent and long-tail opportunities. Its free keyword tool has limits and is powered by Keyword Magic Tool; it should not be treated as equivalent to the full paid suite. Semrush Keyword Magic Tool Consider it when your needs extend beyond an inline browser check to a more dedicated keyword-research workflow.
Rank #4
Choose Ahrefs for ideas across multiple search engines
Ahrefs’ Keyword Generator describes six idea reports and coverage across Google, Bing, YouTube, Yahoo, Amazon and other engines. Ahrefs also states that its database contains over 8 billion queries, but the accessed page does not date that statistic. These are product-published claims, not independent measures of freshness or data quality. Ahrefs Keyword Generator
Is KWS Everywhere worth considering?
KWS Everywhere is a separate product from Keywords Everywhere despite the similar name. Its site markets unlimited searches on paid access passes, local keyword data for more than 40,000 locations, bulk analysis, competitor-gap analysis and live metrics in Google results. It also publishes its own comparison claims, so treat those statements as vendor marketing rather than independently verified advantages. KWS Everywhere
Best Value
It may suit a reader whose deciding requirements are local coverage or avoiding a credit-metered search workflow. Check the vendor’s current access-pass terms and confirm that the locations and data types you need are included.
What ratings and listings can—and cannot—tell you
Product Hunt lists Keywords Everywhere under SEO and keyword research tools, names Semrush and Ahrefs as similar products, and records launches on January 18, 2017 and January 22, 2018. Its displayed score is 2.3 from three reviews, a small, self-selected sample that cannot stand in for general satisfaction or a feature comparison. Product Hunt listing
The Chrome Web Store listing showed 4.5 out of 5 from 5.7K ratings in the context of its September 17, 2026 update. Ratings are platform-specific and change over time; they are not evidence that a tool’s data is accurate or that its feature set fits your needs. Chrome Web Store listing

A practical way to decide
- Start with the workflow. If you want metrics while browsing, try the extension’s free tier; if you plan within Google Ads, start with Keyword Planner; if you want a dedicated research environment, evaluate Semrush or Ahrefs.
- List the data you need. Separate keyword suggestions from paid volume, CPC, competition, historical trends, local coverage and competitor-gap research. Do not assume every plan or free tool provides each one.
- Estimate usage and team size. For Keywords Everywhere, compare expected credit use and required seats with the listed plan limits, and account for the 12-month credit expiry.
- Verify the live terms. Check the provider’s current pricing, geography, query or credit limits and feature availability before committing; these can change and are not equivalent across vendors.
- Keep rank tracking separate. If you need to monitor positions over time, select a rank-tracking capability explicitly rather than assuming a keyword discovery tool does it.
