There is no single universal shortcut for a full-page webpage screenshot. In Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl+Shift+S and choose Capture full page. In Firefox, use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows/Linux or Command+Shift+S on macOS, then choose Save full page. Chrome does not use Ctrl+S for this: use its DevTools screenshot actions. On iPhone Safari, take a normal screenshot, open its preview, and tap Full Page.
The distinction matters. Saving a page, capturing the visible screen and producing one image of the entire scrollable webpage are different operations.

Labels and availability can vary with device type, market and browser version, particularly in Edge. If a shortcut opens a capture tool rather than immediately saving an image, the second selection is part of the workflow.
Microsoft Edge: Ctrl+Shift+S, then Capture full page
Edge has the most direct desktop workflow. Microsoft’s Screenshot documentation describes pressing Ctrl+Shift+S and selecting Capture full page to capture everything at once without manually scrolling.

- Open the webpage you want to preserve.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- Choose Capture full page in the Screenshot interface.
- Use the resulting controls to copy or save the image.
The command opens Edge’s Screenshot tool; it is not the same as a conventional operating-system screen capture. You can also reach Screenshot from the page’s right-click menu or Edge Settings if the shortcut is unavailable. Microsoft notes that the feature’s availability may differ by device type, market and browser version.
When Edge captures the wrong area
Make sure you selected Capture full page, not a visible-area or region option. A full-page result should include content below the initial viewport. If the page changes while Edge is collecting it, wait for the page to settle first and repeat the capture.
Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+S or Command+Shift+S
Firefox’s screenshot tool supports a full page, the visible area, a selected region and a page element. Mozilla Support’s page, last updated June 15, 2026, explains that screenshots can capture visible parts or entire webpages and can be copied or saved.
- Open the target page.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- In the screenshot interface, choose Save full page.
- Save the image or use the available copy option.
Save visible is a different command: it captures only the region currently displayed. Choose it only when you intentionally want a viewport screenshot. Firefox’s region and element choices are useful when a whole page is unnecessarily large, but they do not produce the same output as Save full page.

If the Firefox shortcut does nothing
Use the browser’s screenshot command from its page tools instead of relying on the key combination, then select Save full page. Check the operating-system mapping as well: Command is required on macOS, while Ctrl is used on Windows and Linux.
Chrome: Ctrl+S saves the page, not a full-page screenshot
Do not use Ctrl+S (or Command+S on Mac) expecting a full-page screenshot. Google’s keyboard reference defines that shortcut as opening options to save the current page. It saves a webpage or document, rather than rendering the complete scrollable page as one screenshot image.
Chrome’s full-page screenshot workflow is in DevTools:
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Open DevTools using your normal developer-tools shortcut or browser menu.
- Open the DevTools Command Menu with Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows/Linux or Command+Shift+P on Mac.
- Use DevTools’ documented screenshot actions to produce the full-page capture.
The exact action list and labels can change with Chrome and DevTools versions, so use the screenshot actions shown in the Command Menu rather than assuming that the page-save shortcut is equivalent. DevTools is preferable when you already need responsive emulation or developer inspection; it is less convenient when you only want a quick capture.

Safari on iPhone: use Full Page in the screenshot preview
On iPhone, this is a hardware-button and touch workflow, not a keyboard shortcut.
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Take a normal iPhone screenshot with the device’s screenshot buttons.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail that appears.
- Choose Full Page in the preview.
- Review the long capture and save it using the offered options.
Apple documents Full Page for entire webpages in Safari. The option appears in the screenshot preview, not as a separate keyboard command.
Do not confuse screen shortcuts with webpage capture
Apple’s Mac shortcuts Shift-Command-3 (whole screen) and Shift-Command-4 (a selected region) capture pixels currently displayed on the screen. They do not automatically collect content below the browser viewport. The same principle applies to ordinary operating-system capture shortcuts on other computers: a visible-screen image is not a full-page webpage image.
Pick the workflow that matches your output
- Need a quick image in Edge? Use Ctrl+Shift+S, then Capture full page.
- Need a full image in Firefox? Use the platform shortcut, then Save full page; do not choose Save visible.
- Already working in Chrome DevTools? Open the Command Menu with Ctrl+Shift+P or Command+Shift+P and use its screenshot actions.
- On an iPhone? Use the screenshot preview’s Full Page option in Safari.
- Need only what is visible? Use a visible-area or screen capture instead of a full-page command.
- Need the webpage as a document rather than an image? Use the browser’s page-saving or print workflow; that is a different output from a full-page screenshot.
Quality and reliability checks
Let dynamic content finish
Wait until navigation, fonts and important images have loaded before invoking capture. A page that is still shifting can produce a capture with content in different positions or with unloaded sections.

Check the bottom of the result
Open the saved image and verify that the final section, footer and any legal text appear. If they are missing, repeat the browser-specific full-page action rather than stitching visible screenshots manually.
Expect a very tall image
A full-page image can be much taller than your monitor or phone. Use an image viewer that can zoom and inspect the bottom before sharing it. For very long pages, a PDF or a targeted element capture may be easier to read than one extremely tall bitmap.
Respect page state and privacy
Capture after dismissing consent dialogs or closing overlays when appropriate. Check the image for account details, private URLs, tokens and personal information before distributing it.
