The original Jabra Elite 10 is a feature-rich everyday earbud with a notably comfortable semi-open design, active noise cancellation, Dolby Atmos head tracking, multipoint and IP57-rated earbuds. Its best fit and battery results are not guaranteed for everyone: ear-tip choice affects the seal, and Jabra’s runtime figures are advertised maximums under specified ANC conditions. The Elite 10 Gen 2 adds a smart case that can transmit audio from wired sources, plus LE Audio; it is a successor, not the same product.
What are the Jabra Elite 10?
The original Elite 10 is Jabra’s premium true-wireless earbud for commuting, work and everyday listening. Jabra’s product sheet lists Bluetooth 5.3, multipoint, AAC and SBC codecs, six MEMS microphones, HearThrough, Jabra Advanced ANC, and Dolby Atmos with Dolby Head Tracking. These are manufacturer specifications; which features you can use and how they behave may depend on the connected device and software.
Its distinguishing design is an in-ear, semi-open fit that Jabra calls ComfortFit. The package includes four EarGel sizes. That design aims for comfort without the fully sealed feeling some earbuds create, but fit remains personal: the shape that works well for one listener may not suit another.

Are Jabra Elite 10 earbuds comfortable?
SoundGuys reported a very comfortable experience in its review of the original Elite 10. The reviewer tested the earbuds over five days with firmware 1.3.7 and Sound+ app version 5.16.0.0.10128; that is one reviewer’s experience, not a guarantee of fit for every ear.
#1 Best Overall
- Jabra Elite 10 - Titanium Black (X)
Tip size matters beyond comfort. SoundGuys notes that the seal affects bass response, isolation and ANC effectiveness. If the sound seems thin, outside noise leaks in, or an earbud feels unstable, try another included EarGel size and check the seal in both ears. Replacement EarGels are identified for Elite 10 and Elite 10 Gen 2 in Jabra’s Gen 2 specification sheet.
How good is the noise cancelling and call quality?
The original Elite 10 includes Jabra Advanced ANC and HearThrough, which lets environmental sound through. Jabra also lists six microphones and call noise reduction. The specification sheet establishes that these features are present, but it does not establish a universal level of noise reduction across different ears, environments or firmware.
In its review, SoundGuys said a March 2024 software update improved call quality with AI-based distractor suppression. Treat that as a dated reviewer observation; app and firmware behavior may change over time. Jabra maintains a dated software release history on its Elite 10 support page.

How long does the Jabra Elite 10 battery last?
Jabra’s 2023 technical specification sheet advertises up to 6 hours of music playback in the earbuds with ANC enabled and up to 27 hours total with the case under that ANC condition. With ANC off, the advertised figures are up to 8 hours in the earbuds and up to 36 hours total. These are manufacturer estimates, not a promise of the same runtime at every volume, with every setting, or as the battery ages.
| Original Elite 10 condition | Earbuds, advertised maximum | Total with case, advertised maximum |
|---|---|---|
| ANC on | Up to 6 hours | Up to 27 hours |
| ANC off | Up to 8 hours | Up to 36 hours |
For comparison, Jabra’s 2024 Elite 10 Gen 2 sheet lists up to 6 hours with ANC and 27 hours total with the case, or up to 8 hours and 36 hours respectively with ANC off. Those are Gen 2 manufacturer estimates, not measurements of the original model. SoundGuys reported 5 hours and 27 minutes of playback in a real-music test of Gen 2; that result belongs to its Gen 2 test and should not be treated as an independent test of the original Elite 10.
Are Jabra Elite 10 waterproof?
No: the earbuds are rated IP57, which indicates dust protection and resistance to water exposure under the rating’s test conditions, but “waterproof” overstates what the rating establishes. Jabra’s specification sheet applies IP57 to the earbuds, not the charging case. RTINGS notes that the Elite 8 Active has an IP68 rating and offers greater dust and water protection, making it a more suitable Jabra option to consider for demanding sports conditions.

Jabra Elite 10 vs Elite 10 Gen 2: what changed?
The clearest Gen 2 difference is its smart case: Jabra supplies a USB-C / 3.5 mm cable so the case can stream audio from wired sources, such as an in-flight entertainment system. Gen 2 also adds LE Audio and LC3 support. Both generations list Bluetooth 5.3, ANC, multipoint, six microphones and Dolby Atmos head tracking.
| Feature | Elite 10 (original) | Elite 10 Gen 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Wired-source audio through case | Not listed in Jabra’s original specification sheet | Smart case with USB-C / 3.5 mm cable for wired audio sources |
| Bluetooth and audio codecs | Bluetooth 5.3; AAC and SBC listed | Bluetooth 5.3; LE Audio and LC3 listed |
| ANC-on advertised battery | Up to 6 hours in earbuds; up to 27 hours total | Up to 6 hours in earbuds; up to 27 hours total |
| ANC-off advertised battery | Up to 8 hours in earbuds; up to 36 hours total | Up to 8 hours in earbuds; up to 36 hours total |
RTINGS characterizes Gen 2 as somewhat better overall, highlighting more accurate microphone sound and more consistent wind-noise blocking as well as the wired smart-case feature. It also says the original may appeal if it costs less and its slightly longer battery life suits the buyer. Prices and current regional availability have not been established here, so compare the exact model and live terms before choosing.
How does the Elite 10 compare with alternatives?
- Jabra Elite 8 Active: RTINGS identifies its IP68 rating as the stronger protection option for sports. The Elite 10 offers Dolby Atmos and a different balance of isolation and everyday features.
- Sony WF-1000XM5: RTINGS notes Sony’s LDAC codec support, while Jabra has competing strengths in noise isolation and microphones. Consider codec preference and fit as well as sound and call needs.
- Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and Apple AirPods Pro 2: RTINGS presents them as alternatives with different noise-isolation, fit, codec and ecosystem trade-offs. Those comparisons should not be read as measurements of every current firmware or retail variant.
Should you buy the original Jabra Elite 10?
The original Elite 10 is a reasonable shortlist choice if you value a comfortable semi-open fit, multipoint, ANC, Dolby Atmos head tracking and a substantial feature set for daily use. Before deciding, make sure the fit seals well for your ears and weigh the advertised ANC-on runtime against your typical listening pattern. Choose Elite 10 Gen 2 instead if transmitting wired audio through the charging case or its LE Audio support is important to you. Consider the Elite 8 Active if stronger dust and water protection is the priority.
