Its plans page says it has no free accounts, while its terms include broad restrictions on commercial use of the site. Permission to download or hot-link a screenshot is not the same as an explicit commercial-use license. If your business depends on publishing or redistributing captures, get written clarification from URL2PNG first.
Does URL2PNG offer a free account?
No. URL2PNG’s plans page says, “Sorry, not at this time,” in response to the free-account question. The page lists paid subscriptions. Its displayed prices include Bootstrapped at $29 per month for 5,000 freshly generated screenshots, Traction at $99 per month for 20,000, and Killinit at $199 per month for 50,000; Enterprise pricing is available by contacting the company. These are listings observed on the page, not a guarantee that the offers or prices remain unchanged.
The plans page also says screenshots are cached for 30 days and cached loads do not count against a plan. That describes service billing and caching, not permission to use an image commercially.
Can you use URL2PNG screenshots on a commercial website?
The official material reviewed does not give a clear yes. URL2PNG’s legal terms grant a limited license to access and use site materials for personal or internal business use, subject to exclusions. They also say: “You agree not to sell, resell, reproduce, duplicate, copy or use for any commercial purposes any portion of this site, or use of or access to this site.”

The terms page identifies Champion Thinkers LLC as the provider and says the terms were last updated May 21, 2011; its contact details were updated April 13, 2020. Given the age and breadth of the language, do not assume it settles present-day commercial rights in screenshot outputs.
Do download and hot-link permissions mean commercial use is allowed?
No clear conclusion follows from those statements alone. URL2PNG’s plans page says, “You are free to download and host your own screenshots,” and says hot-linking is OK. Those statements establish that downloading, hosting, and hot-linking are supported uses; they do not expressly say that commercial publication or redistribution is licensed.

- Ask URL2PNG for current written clarification. Specifically ask whether its terms permit that use of generated screenshots and whether any restrictions apply to downloading, hosting, hot-linking, or redistribution.
- Assess the captured content separately. Identify the page’s owner and consider permissions for material visible in the screenshot; do not treat the API provider’s answer as a license from third parties.
- Keep the response with your records. If the use is important to a product or publication, retain the written answer and confirm it applies to your account and current terms.

Its landing page also presents the service for integrating screenshots into apps, websites, and business processes: URL2PNG.
