In the listed Geekbench 6.7.1 results, Google Tensor G6 scores higher than Apple A16 Bionic in both single-core and multi-core tests. That is a CPU benchmark comparison, not proof that every Pixel 11 phone is faster in every task than an iPhone 14 Pro. The chips appear in different phones and software ecosystems, and the available figures do not establish which delivers better gaming, sustained graphics, thermals, or battery life.

Specifications and device context

A16 Bionic is the chip in Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro, a model Apple identifies as introduced in 2022. Google places Tensor G6 in the Pixel 11 family, including Pixel 11 Pro. These are comparisons between complete phones from different generations and ecosystems, not processors consumers can buy as standalone upgrades.

Comparison Apple A16 Bionic Google Tensor G6
Documented device context iPhone 14 Pro Pixel 11 family, including Pixel 11 Pro
CPU configuration 6 cores: 2 performance and 4 efficiency Google’s cited product material does not state a CPU core layout
Graphics and AI hardware 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine Google describes Tensor features for on-device AI and camera processing; it does not provide an equivalent accelerator-throughput comparison

Apple’s configuration and model-year details are in its iPhone 14 Pro technical specifications. Google identifies the Pixel 11 family’s processor in its Tensor overview and Pixel phone hardware specifications. Google’s statements about AI, camera processing, and efficiency describe its product claims, not independent comparative test results.

Geekbench 6.7.1 test Tensor G6 (Pixel 11 Pro XL) A16 Bionic
Single-core 2,687 points 2,574 points
Multi-core 7,220 points 6,448 points

These are publisher-listed benchmark results, not a vendor-published study or a controlled test of both chips in identical phones. The score record does not establish that every device using either chip will reproduce the same result. Notebookcheck’s Tensor G6 benchmarks and specifications page provides the listed comparison.

A separate third-party page reports user-submitted Tensor G6 results of 2,755 single-core and 7,563 multi-core points in Geekbench 6. Those differ from Notebookcheck’s listed figures and are not a matched comparison against an A16-equipped device. They should not be blended with Notebookcheck’s figures as though the tests were one controlled dataset; see NanoReview’s Tensor G6 specifications and benchmark page.

What the CPU scores do—and do not—tell you

Everyday CPU-heavy tasks

Geekbench CPU scores are useful for comparing measured processor performance in that benchmark. The listed results put Tensor G6 ahead on both tests, but they do not directly predict how quickly a particular app opens, how responsive a phone feels, or how well a specific workflow runs. Software, device design, and the task itself also matter.

Graphics and gaming

The cited results do not establish a GPU or gaming winner. A fair comparison would need the same graphics workload and settings on both phones, with sustained testing and device temperatures recorded. CPU scores cannot substitute for those measurements.

Heat, sustained performance, and battery

No matched Tensor G6-versus-A16 results establish sustained gaming performance, thermals, or battery life. Google’s efficiency messaging is a vendor claim about Tensor and Pixel, not a direct comparison with the iPhone 14 Pro under the same test conditions.

AI and camera features

Google says Tensor G6 supports Pixel on-device AI and camera processing. That describes Google’s intended capabilities; it does not provide an apples-to-apples measure of AI throughput against A16 Bionic’s 16-core Neural Engine. Feature availability and usefulness depend on the phone and its software, so raw CPU scores alone cannot resolve that comparison.

Which one should you consider?

  • For the listed CPU benchmark results: Tensor G6 is ahead in both Geekbench 6.7.1 tests cited here.
  • For a phone purchase: compare the Pixel 11 device and iPhone 14 Pro as complete products, including their operating systems, apps, camera features, and support—not just their chips.
  • For gaming, battery, or heat: the available evidence does not establish a winner; look for matched device-level tests relevant to your workload.
