SpinQuest’s current rules and Help Center list Ohio as available, but that is not proof Ohio has approved the platform or that its model complies with Ohio law. Ohio law restricts certain for-profit games and schemes of chance, and how those rules apply can depend on how a platform handles entry, purchases, chance, and prizes. The sources cited here do not establish an Ohio regulator or court ruling specifically addressing SpinQuest.
Can Ohio residents use SpinQuest?
SpinQuest’s Sweepstakes Rules and its Help Center article, dated July 20, 2026, do not include Ohio on their published excluded-state lists. That indicates the company’s stated policy allows eligible Ohio residents to participate, subject to its terms and applicable age requirements. Check the current rules before signing up because the platform’s eligibility information can change.
Availability is not the same as legal approval. SpinQuest’s rules say, “PARTICIPATION IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW,” and place responsibility on participants to assess whether participation complies with the law where they live. The state list reflects the company’s policy; it does not settle the legal question under Ohio law.
What Ohio law says about games of chance
Ohio Revised Code § 2915.01 defines a “scheme of chance” to include a slot machine, lottery, numbers game, pool conducted for profit, or another scheme in which a participant gives valuable consideration for a chance to win a prize. The law also defines circumstances in which consideration is treated as paid, including certain electronic game-entry arrangements and purchases connected with play. Separately, it defines a sweepstakes as a chance-based promotion in which consideration is not required to enter or become eligible for a prize. See the official text of Ohio Revised Code § 2915.01, effective September 30, 2025.

Section 2915.02 generally prohibits establishing, promoting, or operating, or knowingly facilitating, a game of chance conducted for profit or a scheme of chance, except for conduct expressly permitted by law. It also contains registration requirements for certain sweepstakes conducted using terminal devices at facilities in Ohio. The statute’s provisions do not, by themselves, resolve how Ohio law applies to a remote platform such as SpinQuest. Read the official text of Ohio Revised Code § 2915.02.
Why SpinQuest’s legal classification is not settled by its label
SpinQuest’s rules identify Social Gaming Room LLC as the promoter and describe Sweep Coins as entries used for Promotional Play, with possible redemption for prizes and cash. Whether a particular platform falls within a statutory definition can depend on the details of its operation—including how entries are obtained, whether purchases relate to play, how chance determines outcomes, and what prizes are offered. Calling a product a “social casino” or “sweepstakes” does not alone determine its legal status.

The materials cited here show SpinQuest’s stated eligibility policy and Ohio’s statutory framework, but they do not provide a specific Ohio license, approval, or authoritative legal determination for SpinQuest. They also do not establish that every online sweepstakes casino is either categorically lawful or categorically unlawful in Ohio.

- Review SpinQuest’s current Sweepstakes Rules and availability information. The Help Center article is dated July 20, 2026; neither platform page is a substitute for a legal determination.
- Read the rules on entry methods, purchases, promotional currency, and prize redemption rather than relying only on the platform’s description of its games.
- For a decision with legal or financial consequences, consult a qualified Ohio attorney or an authoritative Ohio government source. The materials cited in this article do not resolve SpinQuest’s status under Ohio law.
Ohio House Bill 298 is a proposal concerning internet gambling and online sweepstakes games. The official Ohio House Bill 298 page is the place to check its status; the available information cited here does not establish that the proposal became law.
