Resident Evil Requiem is a released, single-player survival-horror game that is a plausible buy if you want a solo campaign mixing combat, exploration and puzzles. It follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy around Raccoon City, and lets you choose first- or third-person perspective. Whether it is worth your money depends on your platform, your interest in the Deluxe edition’s extras and the price available in your region.
What kind of game is Resident Evil Requiem?
Capcom calls Resident Evil Requiem the ninth main installment in the series. It launched on February 27, 2026, and was developed with Capcom’s RE ENGINE. The story is set in and around Raccoon City, where FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft works to uncover the truth behind the Raccoon City Incident. Leon S. Kennedy is also a protagonist; the official Xbox listing describes the characters’ journeys and distinct play styles as intertwined. Capcom identifies combat, exploration and puzzle-solving as core activities. Players can choose between first-person and third-person perspectives, including within the same scene. The game is classified as single-player on the official Xbox listing; it is not a co-op purchase.
Who is Resident Evil Requiem worth buying for?
It is a reasonable candidate if you want a solo Resident Evil story, like switching between horror-focused exploration and action, and value having a choice of camera perspective. If multiplayer is essential, this is not the right fit. No general verdict can establish whether its price is worthwhile for every player: weigh the current offer against your interest in the game and the extras in the edition you are considering.

Which platforms can you play it on?
Capcom lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Capcom says the base-game content is the same across versions, while hardware and controller differences affect some features. The figures below are Capcom-published specifications, not independent performance tests. Capcom Support’s FAQ was last updated July 22, 2026.

These specifications do not guarantee identical image quality or performance across systems. Capcom says normal operation is not guaranteed with onboard graphics or devices sharing video memory (VRAM) with system memory. It also cautions that a mobile GPU meeting the stated requirements may underperform compared with a regular desktop GPU. If you are buying on PC, check the current store requirements against your exact hardware rather than relying on a broad “meets minimum” assumption.

What should you know about editions and price?
Capcom’s November 26, 2025 announcement describes a Deluxe edition with the full game plus five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two screen filters, a custom sound pack and additional in-game files. The Xbox US store lists Standard and Deluxe editions and showed a starting price of $69.99+ when checked on October 4, 2026. That is a regional, time-sensitive storefront snapshot, not a universal or guaranteed current price. Compare live prices in your region, and decide whether the listed extras matter to you before paying more for Deluxe.

Current local inventory is not established here, and preorder bonuses announced in 2025 should not be assumed to remain available. What should you check before you buy?
- Platform: Confirm that you are buying for a supported system you own, and review the platform-specific features that matter to you.
- PC hardware: Compare your exact GPU and system configuration with the current official or store requirements; Capcom’s cautions apply particularly to onboard graphics, shared VRAM and mobile GPUs.
- Edition: Compare the Standard and Deluxe contents with the actual price difference in your region. The evidence describes the extras, but does not establish that they justify a premium for every buyer.
- Physical or digital: Choose according to your preference and verify current retail availability rather than relying on an old preorder offer.
- Perspective: If camera view affects your decision, note that Capcom says first- and third-person perspectives are selectable during gameplay.
Does it support cross-play or cross-saves?
No. Capcom Support states: “Crossplay and cross-saves between platforms are not supported.” If you own the game on more than one platform, do not expect cross-platform multiplayer or shared progress.
