To troubleshoot audio that is out of sync in an IRL Pro YouTube stream, first find where the mismatch begins: in the phone’s capture, a receiving app or service, YouTube’s live player, or only the saved replay. Then test the audio route—especially Bluetooth—and check transport stability if you use SRT. YouTube’s latency setting controls how long viewers wait and how much buffering the player can use; it is not a documented lip-sync adjustment.
Find the stage where sync breaks
Audio and video pass through several stages before a viewer sees a YouTube stream. Comparing those stages is a practical diagnostic framework, not a published, official IRL Pro procedure. A short test can help distinguish a phone capture issue from a receiver, network, live-player, or replay issue.
- Check the source. If you can, record a brief local clip using the same phone and audio equipment. Check whether the recorded speech matches the picture.
- Check the receiver. Watch the preview in the software or service receiving the IRL Pro feed. If the local clip is in sync but this preview is not, focus on the audio route, receiver, and transport.
- Check YouTube live playback. Compare the receiver preview with the YouTube player. If the receiver looks right but YouTube does not, test another viewer connection or device before changing the phone setup.
- Check the replay. After the stream ends, compare the saved replay with the live player. If only the live player appeared out of sync, the issue may be specific to live playback; if the replay also has the mismatch, investigate an earlier stage.
Note whether the mismatch is constant or worsens over time, whether Bluetooth is involved, and whether the stream becomes unstable while moving. These clues help narrow down which stage to test next.

A third-party IRL Pro receiver guide lists Bluetooth as a check for “Audio out of sync” and warns that Bluetooth can introduce variable lag. Treat this as a controlled test rather than a guaranteed fix: disconnect Bluetooth earbuds, headsets, speakers, or other Bluetooth audio devices, then run a short private or unlisted test using the phone’s built-in microphone or a compatible wired audio path.

If your setup needs an external microphone, a wired USB-C lavalier may be an option to test, but confirm that it is compatible with your phone and connector. This is an inference from the Bluetooth guidance, not a tested product recommendation. Changing to a wired mic will not correct a mismatch that begins in the encoder, receiver, network, or YouTube player.
Check the IRL Pro transport and SRT settings
A third-party setup guide says IRL Pro can use RTMP or SRT and recommends matching the protocol and URL selected in the dashboard with those set in the app. If your feed degrades while moving, that guide suggests trying SRT instead of RTMP; if you are already using SRT, it suggests lowering the bitrate. These are transport-stability suggestions, not proven fixes for every audio-sync problem.

If you use SRT, one receiver vendor recommends 2000 ms as a starting value in its own workflow and says to raise it to 3000–4000 ms when cellular drops occur. The same guide separately suggests lowering latency for its audio-out-of-sync case. These are vendor recommendations for that receiver workflow—not universal IRL Pro defaults, official YouTube settings, or validated fixes. Change one variable at a time and compare short tests so you can tell what helped.
Do not increase SRT latency automatically. It adds transport delay and may make interaction with viewers feel slower. SRT transport latency and YouTube viewer latency are separate settings at different stages of the stream.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Understand what YouTube latency can—and cannot—change
YouTube defines stream latency as the delay between a camera capturing an event and the event being displayed to viewers. Its guidance explains that lower latency leaves the player with less read-ahead buffer, which can increase buffering; network congestion can also delay a stream even when its average bitrate is sustainable.
For supported encoder workflows, YouTube describes normal, low, and ultra-low latency options as trade-offs involving viewer interaction and buffering. Those settings concern when viewers see the stream and how much the player can buffer. They are not documented audio/video offset controls, so do not expect a latency change to repair lip sync.

YouTube Help also says webcam and mobile streams are set up for interactivity and that creators cannot select a live latency setting for those streams. Confirm which YouTube ingestion path you are actually using before looking for a latency control in YouTube Studio or Control Room; an encoder workflow and a mobile workflow do not necessarily expose the same options.

| What you observe | What to test next |
|---|---|
| The local recording is already out of sync | Test without Bluetooth and simplify the phone’s audio path. If the local clip remains out of sync, changing YouTube latency is unlikely to address the point where the mismatch begins. |
| The local clip looks right, but the receiver preview is not | Check the receiver’s audio route and its relevant timing or latency controls. If you use SRT, change one setting at a time and compare a short test. |
| The receiver preview is in sync, but YouTube live playback is not | Compare playback on another device or connection and check whether the issue is limited to a particular viewer. Do not treat YouTube’s general latency control as a lip-sync offset. |
| The mismatch becomes worse while moving or as the stream continues | Look for cellular drops or other transport instability. Check that the app and dashboard agree on protocol and URL; if using RTMP, a third-party guide suggests testing SRT for a feed that degrades while moving. If already on SRT, that guide suggests reducing bitrate. |
| Live playback seems wrong, but the replay looks right | Focus on the live playback path and viewer connection rather than assuming the original capture was out of sync. |
| The replay and live playback are both out of sync | Work upstream from the player: compare the receiver preview with the replay, then the receiver with a local recording if available. |
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a separate option for keeping a YouTube channel live with uploaded recordings; it does not capture a live camera feed or repair sync in an existing IRL Pro stream. To use it, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.
