A 2K, 185Hz OLED panel for an upcoming iQOO Neo 12 is currently a leak, not an announcement. As of October 9, 2026, iQOO and Visionox have not confirmed the phone, the panel, the refresh rate, or a launch date. The newest report, published by Gizmochina on October 8, 2026, relays a tip from the leaker Digital Chat Station. Earlier coverage from June 2026 described 165Hz as the tested baseline and 185Hz as a figure still being evaluated. That difference matters more than the headline suggests.
What the latest report claims
According to Gizmochina’s October 8 coverage, an upcoming iQOO phone, which the report believes is the Neo 12, could use a 2K display with a 185Hz refresh rate. The panel is said to come from Visionox and to use its fourth-generation pTSF light-emitting technology. The same report uses the phrase “world’s first mass-produced” for this display. That phrase comes from the leak and has not been verified by iQOO or Visionox.
Why the 165Hz and 185Hz reports do not necessarily conflict
Gizmochina’s June 25, 2026 report said the alleged Neo 12 was being tested with a 6.83-inch flat 2K display at a baseline of 165Hz, while 185Hz was under evaluation. IT Home’s June 6, 2026 report described an unnamed performance phone with the same 2K/165Hz baseline and an effort to reach 185Hz. IT Home identified the device as the Neo 12 only by inference.

Read together, the two earlier reports point to a test target, not a finished retail specification. A phone can be validated at 165Hz while a panel maker pushes for 185Hz, and the final shipping number may land on either value. The October report reads as if 185Hz is settled, but it does not say how it confirmed that. Until a spec sheet lists the refresh rate, treat 185Hz as the most recent claim rather than the locked figure.

- Try the carefully selected high-quality sheepskin, high elasticity TPU, and built-in magnetic box, which will bring you an unprecedented experience!
- Thin and sturdy, it can withstand scratches and collisions during daily use, prevent scratches and wear on the phone back panel, and effectively protect the appearance of the phone.
- In terms of design, our protective case is equally impressive: all the details you want, comfortable touch, full lens coverage, drop protection, fingerprint free, silky and lightweight.
- Function - Built-in magnetic suction iron piece easily adsorbed car bracket, strong magnetic suction, stable and does not fall off
- Thin and light design, restore the bare phone feel: in order to ensure the protection performance at the same time, the thickness of the body control in a reasonable range, will not increase the heavy feeling of the mobile phone, after the shell still maintains a light grip experience.

Other rumored hardware
Gizmochina’s June report also lists hardware rumors. None of them has been confirmed:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset
- A dedicated display chip
- A battery above 9,000mAh
- 100W wired charging
- An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor
- A high water-resistance rating (the exact rating is not stated in the report)
Camera details were described as unknown or speculative, so no camera claim should be attached to the Neo 12 yet.

- The ring mount features a magnetic ring, allowing you to use it in your car or for other magnetic applications
What “world’s first mass-produced” would need to mean
A “world’s first mass-produced” claim is a comparative one. It would require a display to be in volume production before any rival and to appear in a shipping phone. The October report offers no production figures, shipment dates, or competing panels for comparison, so the claim can’t be checked from the reporting alone. Treat it as the leaker’s or the outlet’s framing.

The same applies to the panel benefits that have been described: brightness, image quality, lifespan, and power use. These are qualitative statements. No published test results from a retail device, with stated conditions, were available at the time of writing. Any figure for brightness in nits or power draw in milliwatts should be treated as unverified until a reviewer publishes a measurement.

How to read the iQOO 12 comparison
iQOO’s official iQOO 12 product page lists a 6.78-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate on LTPO AMOLED. That is a published specification for the previous model, not evidence about the Neo 12. It is useful as a reference point for how iQOO describes its own panels, and nothing more.
A higher refresh rate is a ceiling, not a guarantee. A 185Hz screen will only show higher frame rates when the game, the software, and the system all deliver them. When comparing a 185Hz phone with a 144Hz phone, check resolution, refresh rate, panel type, and power consumption under the same test conditions. Refresh rate alone does not describe the screen.

What to watch before buying or writing about it
The 2K, 185Hz claim becomes a product fact when iQOO or Visionox publishes it. Until then, the strongest signals are these:
- An official iQOO launch announcement for a Neo-series phone that names the model.
- A published spec sheet from iQOO that lists display resolution, refresh rate, and panel type.
- A Visionox statement or product listing that names the fourth-generation pTSF panel.
- Independent reviews that measure refresh rate behavior, brightness, and power draw under stated conditions.
If the official spec sheet says 165Hz, the October report was describing a test configuration. If it says 185Hz, the earlier 165Hz baseline was probably superseded. Until one of those documents appears, the Neo 12 display should be described as a reported 2K, 185Hz OLED from a leak, with the model, panel supplier, and launch timing all still unconfirmed.

In short, the reporting makes a plausible story about a high-refresh 2K OLED, but not yet a confirmed one. Readers should treat the “world’s first” framing and the 185Hz figure as claims to verify rather than specifications to rely on.
