The iQOO 15R is the stronger on-paper choice for chipset performance, display refresh rate and wired charging; the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G offers a larger screen and higher stated battery capacity. In an India marketplace snapshot, their displayed prices differed by about ₹16,992, but that is not a guaranteed or official like-for-like price comparison. The better buy depends on your priorities, exact storage variant and local live price.
How the core specifications compare
| Specification | iQOO 15R | Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 | Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 |
| Display | 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED, up to 144Hz | 6.83-inch-class 1.5K AMOLED, up to 120Hz |
| Typical battery capacity | 7,600mAh | 9,000mAh |
| Wired charging | 100W | 67W |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main with OIS, 8MP ultrawide | 50MP main with OIS, 8MP ultrawide |
| Front camera | 32MP | 16MP |
These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent performance or endurance tests. The chipset models indicate a substantial on-paper tier difference, but they do not establish gaming frame rates, heat or sustained performance. Likewise, battery capacity alone does not establish which phone lasts longer, and charging wattage does not determine an exact charge time.
Which phone suits your priorities?
Choose the iQOO 15R if performance and responsiveness lead
- Its listed Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor is the more performance-focused chipset of the two on paper.
- The 144Hz display ceiling is higher than the Redmi’s 120Hz maximum. Actual refresh behavior depends on supported content and settings.
- Its rated 100W wired charging is higher than the Redmi’s 67W.
- iQOO India lists configurations up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, with LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage.
Choose the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G if screen size and stated capacity matter more
- Its 6.83-inch-class display is larger than the iQOO’s 6.59-inch panel, which may suit readers who prefer more screen area.
- Its listed 9,000mAh typical battery is higher capacity than the iQOO’s 7,600mAh typical battery. This is not proof of longer real-world runtime.
- Xiaomi India’s listed configurations include 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB storage. The 128GB option uses UFS 2.2; 256GB uses UFS 3.1.
What the camera specifications do—and do not—tell you
Both phones list a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The iQOO lists a 32MP front camera, compared with 16MP on the Redmi. Megapixel counts do not establish image quality: the specifications alone cannot settle differences in processing, low-light results, autofocus or video performance.

A 91mobiles comparison page displayed an Amazon-linked price of ₹53,990 for the iQOO 15R and about ₹36,998 for the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G when accessed on 7 October 2026. The displayed difference is approximately ₹16,992. These are volatile third-party marketplace-linked figures, not official Xiaomi or iQOO matched-variant MSRPs, and the exact configurations behind listings should be checked before comparing.
#1 Best Overall
Before buying in India, compare the same storage capacity where possible and verify the live price, seller, stock and return terms on the listing. A price can change, and a variant mismatch can make an apparent discount misleading.
Prices are market-specific
Do not compare India rupees with Indonesia rupiah as though they were prices from one market. iQOO Indonesia’s product listing shows Rp8,499,000 for 8GB+256GB, Rp9,499,000 for 12GB+256GB and Rp11,999,000 for 12GB+512GB. Its 25 February 2026 announcement separately stated a starting launch price of Rp7,299,000; that dated starting price is distinct from the variant prices on the product listing. A corresponding official Xiaomi Indonesia price was not established.

Software, configuration and regional checks
Xiaomi India’s specification page identifies HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. iQOO’s India product material identifies OriginOS 6 and Android 16. The reviewed official pages do not establish a verified support duration for either model, so check the relevant regional policy if years of updates are central to your decision.
Configurations and availability can vary by country. Confirm the exact RAM and storage variant sold in your market, and check local network-band compatibility and feature availability before importing either phone. An India specification or price should not be assumed to apply elsewhere.

Bottom line: match the trade-off to your use
On listed specifications, the iQOO 15R prioritizes a higher-tier processor, a faster refresh ceiling and higher rated charging power. The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G prioritizes a larger display and higher typical battery capacity. The India marketplace snapshot puts the Redmi lower, but its price is not a stable, official, matched-variant comparison. Pick based on the features you value, then verify the exact local variant and current seller price.
