Apple’s September 2026 launch included the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, but not the standard iPhone 18. Apple has also announced iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, with India availability scheduled for October. Separate reports describe price increases for older iPhone models in India; the headline’s UPI and internet-free TV claims are not specific enough to verify as stated.
Which iPhone 18 models launched, and when?
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
India Today reported that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max went on sale in September 2026. Its September 10 launch report gave September 12 as the preorder date and September 18 as the sales date. The reported India starting prices were ₹1,64,900 for the Pro and ₹1,79,900 for the Pro Max.
Standard iPhone 18
The standard iPhone 18 was not part of that September launch. India Today and The Indian Express described a spring 2027 launch as a reported expectation, not an Apple-confirmed date. No official schedule for that model is established by those reports.

iPhone Duo is an announced Apple product, not merely a rumored or fake device. In its September 9, 2026 newsroom announcement, Apple called it the company’s first foldable iPhone and specified a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display. That confirms the product announcement; it does not establish whether “FAKE” in the headline was intended to mean a hoax, a counterfeit, or an ironic claim.

Did iPhone prices go up in India?
India Today reported 2026 price increases for several older models. For the 256GB iPhone 17, it gave both prices: ₹82,900 before the change and ₹99,900 afterward, a rise of ₹17,000. Moneycontrol quoted Tarun Pathak, identified as Counterpoint Research’s Research Director, attributing the increases partly to a weaker rupee and higher domestic production costs. That is an analyst’s explanation reported by Moneycontrol, not an explanation Apple confirmed.

What is the UPI “bad news” in India?
The headline does not identify a dated UPI announcement, outage, fee, transaction-limit change, fraud alert or other specific development. The available material does not establish which claim “bad news” refers to, so it would be misleading to present any one of those possibilities as the story. Check the notice or incident itself and its date; for a proposed rule or policy, look for the relevant NPCI or RBI communication rather than relying on an unattributed viral post.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you watch live TV without internet?
That depends on what “live TV” means and where you are. Terrestrial broadcast reception is one possible interpretation of watching without an internet connection, but the headline does not identify a country, broadcaster, reception method or compatible equipment. The available information does not verify that a particular antenna or tuner will work for a given reader. Confirm local broadcast coverage and the broadcaster’s supported reception method before buying equipment; a service that streams live channels still needs an internet connection.
