On iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Texture is a control within Photographic Styles that lets you adjust the look of a photo before you shoot. Open Camera, choose Styles and Customize, then select a texture and set its intensity. You can also refine Photographic Styles in Photos after capture, provided the image was taken with High Efficiency enabled.
How to use Texture in Photographic Styles on iPhone 18 Pro
Photographic Styles adjust colors in different parts of an image to create a customized look. On iPhone 18 Pro models, Texture adds another way to shape that look. Apple describes it as a control that can, for example, soften skin or add film grain. The feature is listed for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which support Photographic Styles 3. Apple’s Photographic Styles instructions and its iPhone 18 Pro technical specifications identify the capability.
- Open the Camera app.
- Tap Camera Controls, or swipe up from the camera modes at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Styles, then swipe through the styles to preview them.
- Tap Customize.
- Tap Texture, choose an option, and drag the slider to adjust its intensity.
Choose Standard for no texture. Tap Grain to add film grain to any texture. Apple names Soft Skin, Glow, and Film as texture choices. The slider lets you vary intensity; Apple does not specify a preferred setting or quantify how each option will look across different subjects and lighting.

Turn it on at Settings > Camera > Formats > High Efficiency. Apple’s guide to changing the camera capture format explains this requirement.
