The iPhone 15 Plus is the larger, longer-lasting option on Apple’s published specifications; the iPhone 15 is shorter and lighter. Both share the A16 Bionic chip, Dynamic Island, USB-C, and the same main camera system. At launch in the U.S., the Plus cost $100 more, but that 2023 gap does not tell you which model costs less today.

What is the same on both iPhone 15 models?
Both phones use Apple’s A16 Bionic chip, include Dynamic Island and USB-C, and share the same main camera setup: a 48MP main camera with a 2x telephoto option, plus an Ultra Wide camera. Apple’s 2023 launch announcement presents these as iPhone 15 family features, not Plus-only upgrades.

Water resistance is not waterproofing
Apple specifies IP68 resistance under IEC standard 60529, tested in controlled laboratory conditions to a maximum depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes. Apple says resistance is not permanent and may decline through normal wear, so neither phone should be described as waterproof. Details appear in Apple’s iPhone 15 Plus specifications.

Fast charging requires a separate adapter
Apple says both models can charge up to 50% in around 30 minutes with a 20W or higher adapter and a USB-C cable; the adapter is sold separately. Apple’s claim is based on tests with preproduction devices, and actual charging time varies. See the Apple specifications for the conditions.
