Indiana running back Lee Beebe Jr. was listed as questionable on Thursday, Oct. 1, ahead of the Hoosiers’ Oct. 3 game at Rutgers. The injury was described as undisclosed, and the available reporting did not identify a diagnosis or confirm whether Beebe ultimately played.
When Beebe’s questionable tag appeared
Beebe was absent from Indiana’s Wednesday availability report, then appeared as questionable on Thursday, Oct. 1, according to The Daily Hoosier’s report. The Covers injury listing also showed him as questionable and called the injury undisclosed. The tag was reported two days before Indiana was scheduled to play Rutgers on Saturday, Oct. 3.
What the report did—and did not—say about the injury
Neither the questionable designation nor the word “undisclosed” identifies a specific injury. The reports available at the time gave no diagnosis, cause, treatment details, or recovery timeline. RotoWire’s Oct. 1 item speculated that Beebe might have been banged up after a heavy workload, but that was not a confirmed medical explanation; see its Lee Beebe news and stats page.
Why the status mattered to Indiana’s running-back depth
Beebe had just rushed for a reported 203 yards against Northwestern. The Daily Hoosier said he carried the ball 24 times in that game after Turbo Richard was injured. Those figures explain why his status drew attention, but they do not establish what, if anything, was wrong with Beebe.

Indiana also had other running-back availability concerns in the report described by The Daily Hoosier: Khobie Martin was listed out, Richard probable, and Sean Cuono questionable. On Oct. 2, The Herald-Times’ Michael Niziolek reported via Yahoo Sports that the team’s top four running backs were on the latest injury report. Was Beebe available against Rutgers?
The cited reports do not confirm Beebe’s final game-day status or establish whether a later official update was issued. His Oct. 1 questionable tag should therefore be understood as a snapshot ahead of the game, not confirmation that he would miss it or play. The available information also does not support a specific injury diagnosis or timetable.
