You can stream Valorant ranked gameplay to YouTube from India with OBS and YouTube Live Control Room: enable live streaming in advance, configure an encoder for a resolution your PC and upload connection can sustain, and test the preview and stream health before sharing the broadcast. For VOD reliability, keep each live session under 12 hours and record a local backup. YouTube’s bitrate figures are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that your particular PC or ISP can maintain them.
What “continuous stream” means for ranked VODs
For this setup, continuous means an encoder sends your live PC gameplay to YouTube for an extended session. OBS captures Valorant, your audio sources, and encodes the feed; YouTube Live Control Room supplies the stream connection details and lets you check the incoming signal. This is not a way to turn an existing recording into a loop: the stream is of gameplay being captured while you play.
Plan around the VOD as well as the live broadcast. YouTube says automatic archiving is available for streams under 12 hours; a longer stream may not be captured. If a replay matters, end or split the broadcast before that limit and make a local recording as backup. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

Before setup: enable YouTube live streaming
- Verify your YouTube channel and enable live streaming in YouTube Studio. YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days.
- Allow time for activation: YouTube says first-time live enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- When live streaming is available, open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Copy the stream URL and stream key into OBS. Treat the key like a password: do not show it on-screen, share it, or include it in a public recording.
Follow the current steps in YouTube’s live-streaming starter guide and encoder setup instructions.

Set up OBS for Valorant
Choose an encoder and capture the game
Install OBS on the PC running Valorant. In OBS, add a game capture source for the game, then add the microphone and desktop or game audio sources you want viewers to hear. A hardware encoder is a sensible first option if your GPU provides one: it shifts encoding work from the CPU to a specialized GPU component and can reduce performance impact. It does not guarantee smooth gameplay and streaming, however. OBS explicitly cautions that meeting its baseline system requirements does not prove a system can stream or record well under your workload. See OBS hardware encoding guidance and OBS system requirements.
Use SDR and RTMPS as the straightforward starting point
For a conventional SDR gameplay broadcast, use RTMPS ingestion. Select the output resolution and frame rate your PC can sustain while Valorant is running; do not assume that a setting is safe just because OBS offers it. YouTube’s general RTMP/RTMPS encoder guidance recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds), up to 60 fps, and AAC or MP3 audio. Apply the bitrate recommendation for your codec and output below. Detailed settings are on YouTube’s encoder settings page.

These are YouTube’s current recommendations on the encoder settings page, accessed in 2026; they are not measured requirements for an Indian ISP or a guarantee of image quality on a particular PC. If your connection cannot sustain the relevant target with headroom, lower the output resolution, frame rate, or bitrate rather than starting with a setting that causes dropped frames.
Check the actual connection, not just the plan speed
Streaming depends on sustained upload capacity and stability, not download speed. YouTube recommends keeping about 20% bandwidth headroom; other people and devices sharing the home connection can reduce the capacity available to OBS. Test at the time you expect to stream, with normal household use underway. A wired connection may help where your PC and router can connect directly. India’s country label alone does not predict the upload performance of your home connection. YouTube’s streaming tips discuss connection preparation.

Test the stream before ranked play
- In OBS, enter the YouTube stream URL and key, choose the planned encoder settings, and start a private or otherwise non-public test stream.
- Reproduce the activity you expect in a ranked match: move through the game, include typical effects and gameplay audio, and speak into the microphone if you use one.
- Check the incoming preview in Live Control Room and the stream-health indicators. Confirm that gameplay, game audio, and microphone are present and that the feed remains stable.
- Watch OBS performance while Valorant is running. If the game or stream is struggling, reduce output demands and retest rather than relying on OBS compatibility alone.
- Enable local recording and verify that the recording file is actually growing before relying on it as a VOD backup.
YouTube advises testing with movement and audio similar to the real stream. Its live stream settings guide covers stream management.
Should one broadcast run continuously?
For a VOD you need to retain, shorter sessions are safer than leaving one stream open indefinitely: YouTube’s automatic-archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours, and a longer broadcast may not be captured. End and restart the broadcast before that threshold, confirm that the replay appears in YouTube Studio’s Live content, and keep a local recording as a second copy. YouTube recommends a local archive backup.

- You cannot start the first stream: Channel verification or activation may be incomplete, or the channel may have a live restriction. Check YouTube Studio and allow up to 24 hours after first enabling live streaming.
- Stream health warns of connection problems or frames are dropped: Test sustained upload at stream time, account for household sharing, leave roughly 20% headroom, and lower bitrate or output demands if necessary. Consider Ethernet if practical.
- Valorant performance falls during streaming: Your PC may not sustain the combined game and encoder workload. Try a supported hardware encoder, reduce output resolution or frame rate, and test again; baseline OBS requirements are not a performance guarantee.
- The preview has no game, microphone, or game audio: Check the relevant OBS capture and audio sources, then repeat a movement-and-audio test in Live Control Room before making the stream public.
- The VOD is missing after a long broadcast: Streams over 12 hours may not be archived automatically. Use shorter sessions, check YouTube Studio’s Live content, and keep a verified local recording.
- The stream key may have been exposed: Replace or reset it in YouTube Studio, then update OBS with the new key. Do not display the key in gameplay overlays or recordings.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is an always-on YouTube channel built from uploaded videos rather than a live camera or live Valorant session, StreamNeo is a cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It is YouTube-only and does not capture a live camera feed.
