For a YouTube channel in India that needs an uploaded video to run continuously as a live stream, StreamNeo is the clearest fit: upload a recording or playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live; its cloud keeps the stream running when your computer is off. For a one-time scheduled broadcast, compare Castr, StreamYard, and Restream as well: their documented workflows include scheduling prerecorded videos, with different limits and destination details.
First, choose between a one-time scheduled stream and a continuous loop
These services cover related but not identical jobs. A scheduled prerecorded broadcast (often called simulive) plays like a live feed: viewers who join see the point currently being broadcast. A continuous stream instead keeps playing uploaded video or a playlist, often looping it around the clock. Confirm which behavior you need before choosing a service; a scheduler for a single event is not automatically a 24/7 playout service.
- For a continuous YouTube stream from uploaded videos: StreamNeo is designed for always-on cloud looping and playlists. It streams to YouTube only.
- For a scheduled one-off premiere or simulive broadcast: Castr, StreamYard, and Restream document upload-and-schedule workflows. Check their current plans and YouTube destination setup for the event you intend to run.
- For a custom-built streaming pipeline: AWS Elemental MediaLive is a cloud encoding building block, not a documented turnkey upload-and-schedule service for this creator workflow.
Cloud services compared
| Service | Best documented use | Cloud playback and scheduling | Important limits or checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Continuous YouTube streaming from uploaded videos or playlists | Runs in the cloud, loops uploaded content, and can keep going with your computer off. | YouTube only; it plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera. One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; includes 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots. See StreamNeo for current details. |
| Castr | Scheduled prerecorded broadcasts and playlist looping | Upload an MP4 or import from Dropbox, schedule a file as live, or use continuous playlist looping on applicable tiers. Supports YouTube and custom RTMP. | Its product page lists maximum file durations of 60 minutes on Starter, 120 minutes on Standard, and 240 minutes on Premium and higher, and prerecorded storage from 4 GB to 20 GB across listed tiers. Playlist and concurrency caps vary by plan; recheck the current matrix. Castr says event backup can be started manually, but it does not automatically switch a failed live feed to recorded content. Castr prerecorded streaming. |
| StreamYard | Scheduling a prerecorded video to start while the creator is offline | Choose an uploaded file or prior recording, select destinations, and schedule it. Its scheduling documentation lists YouTube as a supported destination. | Advance scheduling is not available for custom RTMP destinations according to its scheduling help. Confirm current plan caps and the behavior of the destination you select. Prerecorded streaming · Scheduling help. |
| Restream | Uploading, scheduling, queuing, and looping videos | The product page advertises these video workflows alongside multistream-oriented collaboration features. | The available product detail does not establish the same YouTube-specific scheduling conditions or detailed file and tier caps as the other help pages. Verify YouTube support, limits, and account-region terms before relying on it. Restream Upload & Stream. |
| AWS Elemental MediaLive | Technical teams assembling a custom streaming pipeline | A cloud encoding component used in a broader architecture, rather than a straightforward uploaded-file scheduler. | The cited AWS materials do not establish it as a turnkey service for this exact creator workflow. See AWS Elemental MediaLive and the AWS live-streaming solution overview. |
StreamNeo is first for an always-on YouTube channel because it plays uploaded videos from the cloud at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and the first day is free. Castr, StreamYard, and Restream are relevant alternatives for event-style scheduling, but their product claims and plan limits should be checked directly before purchase. The cited service pages do not establish India-specific pricing, tax treatment, billing support, or uptime for Castr, StreamYard, or Restream.
Check YouTube eligibility and prepare the channel
- On the intended YouTube channel, enable live streaming and verify the channel. YouTube’s requirements include having no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days; first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
- In YouTube Live Control Room, create or open the stream and locate the stream settings. YouTube identifies the stream key as sensitive: treat it like a password, do not share it, and rotate it if exposed. Its setup guidance recommends RTMPS, the encrypted version of RTMP; use the endpoint and key shown for your stream. See YouTube RTMPS setup and stream settings.
- Connect the streaming service to the channel using its YouTube authorization flow, or enter the key where the service requires it. Check that the service is authorized for the intended channel and destination before scheduling or starting playback.
- Run a short unlisted test first. Preview the stream in YouTube Live Control Room and check picture, audio, timing, and whether the service continues playback as expected.
Plan the video, schedule, and viewer experience
For a scheduled one-off event
Upload or select the finished recording, choose YouTube as the destination, and set the start time in the service. Castr documents scheduling a file as live; StreamYard documents selecting an uploaded video or previous recording and scheduling it to begin even when the creator is offline. For Restream, verify the exact YouTube workflow on its current product page. Check the watch-page or advance-notice behavior in the service and YouTube before promoting an event; it can vary by workflow.
#1 Best Overall
For a continuous channel
Build a playlist of the videos you have rights to use and check how the service handles the end of the queue, loop order, and a failed connection. StreamNeo supports 24/7 looping and playlists. Castr documents continuous playlist looping on applicable tiers, with plan-dependent playlist and concurrency caps. Do not assume that a one-off scheduled video will repeat indefinitely.
Use a test stream to catch operational problems
- Check that the chosen file is accepted and falls within the service’s current duration and storage caps.
- Confirm that audio is present throughout, including at the beginning and end of the file.
- Make sure the YouTube destination is the correct channel and the stream is private or unlisted for testing.
- For workflows involving a local encoder or local handoff, provide outbound bandwidth with headroom and monitor the audio and video preview. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend adequate bandwidth and preview monitoring.
Copyright and YouTube policy still apply
Using a cloud service does not change YouTube’s account or content requirements. Only stream video and audio you own, have licensed, or are otherwise permitted to use, including music, archival footage, and images. A successful upload or a vendor’s support for prerecorded playback is not a guarantee that YouTube will accept every video or that it meets every policy requirement. YouTube’s live-stream setup documentation points creators to its terms and community rules: review YouTube’s live-stream requirements. For a checklist before you go live, use StreamNeo’s copyright safety checklist.

India billing, cost, and plan checks
Current India-specific prices, taxes, local billing support, and partner-program terms for Castr, StreamYard, and Restream are not established by the cited service pages. Check the provider’s checkout and plan details before committing, especially where file duration, storage, playlist size, concurrent streams, or destination scheduling determines which tier you need.
StreamNeo offers daily, weekly, monthly, six-month, and yearly billing; the service is the same across plans and only the billing length changes. UPI and cards are accepted in India, and card checkout is available worldwide. Each slot includes one always-on stream, any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. Troubleshooting common failures
- The stream cannot start: confirm live streaming is enabled on the correct channel, the channel is verified, and it has no live-stream restriction in the last 90 days. Remember that first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours.
- The service cannot connect to YouTube: reauthorize the intended channel or check that the entered stream key and endpoint match the current Live Control Room settings. If the key was exposed, rotate it rather than continuing to use it.
- The scheduled broadcast does not appear at the expected time: verify the service’s scheduling mode, the selected destination, and whether custom RTMP scheduling is supported. StreamYard’s scheduling help says advance scheduling is unavailable for custom RTMP destinations.
- The file is rejected or stops before the end: check its format, duration, and storage against the current plan. Castr’s listed duration limits are plan-specific and may change.
- Viewers report missing audio or a blank picture: inspect the service preview and test the same file as an unlisted stream; confirm the source file itself has a usable audio track and video throughout.
- The stream drops: check the YouTube Live Control Room status and the service’s recovery behavior. Castr describes a manual backup option, not automatic failover to recorded content. StreamNeo includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a cloud service for a YouTube Live stream without leaving my laptop on?
