FFmpeg can send your gameplay to YouTube Live; the right setup depends on what you mean by “replay.” Enable DVR if viewers should pause or rewind while the stream is still live. For a video after the broadcast, use YouTube’s archive feature and keep a local recording as backup. India does not call for a special bitrate: choose a setting your own upload connection and encoder can sustain, then verify it in YouTube Studio before sharing the stream.
Replay ka matlab: live DVR ya baad ka archive?
“YouTube live stream ka replay kaise dekhein” has two answers. DVR lets viewers seek backward during a live broadcast; an archive is the video YouTube makes available after the broadcast ends. They are separate behaviors, and neither should be treated as a substitute for a local recording of gameplay you cannot afford to lose.
- During the stream: Enable DVR in the stream’s additional settings in Live Control Room. Viewers can pause and rewind only as far back as the beginning of the live stream, not to a point before it started. DVR may be limited or unavailable on very long streams, particularly beyond 12 hours. YouTube’s DVR guidance explains the setting.
- After the stream: YouTube can automatically archive broadcasts shorter than 12 hours. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and a completed video may not be available immediately while it is processed. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
- For a dependable copy: Record locally while streaming. Check that the file is growing and that the disk has space; do not rely on YouTube as the only copy of a valuable session.
Before streaming: enable YouTube Live and get the ingest details
Your channel must be eligible for live streaming. YouTube says live streaming must be enabled on a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and creators must be at least 16 years old. First-time activation may take time, so complete it before a planned broadcast. Details are in YouTube’s live-streaming introduction.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Follow YouTube’s encoder setup steps.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. YouTube’s API describes the ingestion address and stream name; some encoders take these separately, while others combine them as
STREAM_URL/STREAM_NAME. Use the exact values shown for your account and stream. YouTube’s LiveStreams documentation describes the stream resource. - Prefer the RTMPS endpoint when YouTube provides it. YouTube recommends RTMPS as the secure extension of RTMP. Its current encoder guidance also covers supported protocols and encoding settings.
Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send video to your stream. Do not paste your real key into a public command example, screenshot, shell history you share, or support post. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before broadcasting again.

Choose resolution and bitrate for your actual connection
YouTube Help’s current H.264 recommendations, accessed in 2026, are platform guidance—not measurements of Indian internet service or a guarantee that a particular connection will hold steady. The appropriate setting depends on the upload route, network variation, game motion and encoding capacity.
| Ingest resolution and frame rate | H.264 recommended video bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p60 | 6–17 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 5–14 Mbps |
| 720p60 | 3–8 Mbps |
| 720p30 | 3–8 Mbps |
| 480p30 | 0.4–4 Mbps |
These ranges are specifically for H.264; guidance differs by codec. Run an upload speed test on the same connection you will use to stream, preferably under ordinary household or office traffic. Leave headroom for variation rather than setting the encoder at the connection’s measured maximum. Start with a bitrate it sustains reliably and judge both YouTube’s stream health and the image in fast gameplay. YouTube advises testing with movement and audio like the real broadcast.

720p60 or 1080p60?
At 720p60, fast movement remains smooth with a lower recommended H.264 bitrate range (3–8 Mbps); 1080p60 carries more image detail but has a higher range (6–17 Mbps) and can demand more from the encoder and upload connection. Choose 1080p60 only when your equipment and route sustain it in a representative test. A stable lower-resolution stream is preferable to repeated drops or severe quality changes.

Settings that matter across resolutions
- Protocol: Use RTMPS where available.
- Rate control: Use constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: Set a two-second interval; do not exceed four seconds.
- Video format: YouTube’s current guidance supports H.264, H.265 and AV1, up to 60 fps. Match the codec to your encoder and YouTube’s current recommendations.
- Audio: AAC is a supported choice. YouTube’s advanced guidance lists stereo at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz.
- Picture: For SDR, use square pixels, progressive scan and Rec. 709.
These are the creator’s ingest settings, not a promise that every viewer will receive the same resolution: YouTube transcodes live video for playback formats.

FFmpeg se YouTube par gaming live stream kaise karein
The command below shows the encoder and output pattern. The input placeholders are intentional: desktop capture syntax depends on the operating system, FFmpeg build, capture device and audio routing. This is a template, not a universal, tested command. For FFmpeg’s command-line options, consult the FFmpeg command-line documentation.
ffmpeg -f <desktop-capture-input> -i <gameplay-source>
-f <audio-input> -i <game-audio-or-mix>
-c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -pix_fmt yuv420p
-r 60 -g 120 -keyint_min 120 -sc_threshold 0
-b:v 8M -maxrate 8M -bufsize 16M
-c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100 -ac 2
-f flv "<YOUTUBE_RTMPS_INGEST_URL>/<PRIVATE_STREAM_KEY>"
This example’s 8 Mbps video bitrate falls within YouTube’s H.264 recommendation for 720p60. It sends 60 fps only if the capture input supplies that frame rate; it does not set a 720p output size. To scale to 720p, add a suitable video filter such as -vf "scale=1280:720" after choosing an appropriate source and aspect-ratio handling. Do not upscale a lower-resolution source expecting more detail. For 1080p60, select a tested bitrate from YouTube’s current 6–17 Mbps range.

At 60 fps, -g 120 requests a 120-frame GOP, corresponding to two seconds; at 30 fps, a two-second GOP is 60 frames. -keyint_min and -sc_threshold affect encoder behavior, so check compatibility with your FFmpeg build and test the resulting feed. They implement an interval choice; they do not guarantee compatibility across all encoders or inputs.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Test the preview, then monitor the live stream
- Start with an unlisted or private test stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- Play a representative game scene and check microphone and game audio, including whether the sound is synchronized.
- Check the preview’s aspect ratio, resolution and frame rate. If the source is cropped, stretched, silent or choppy, fix that before a public broadcast.
- Watch YouTube’s stream health while the test runs. If health degrades, reduce bitrate or resolution and repeat the test on the same network route.
- Once the preview and health look acceptable, set the intended privacy and broadcast details before going public.
For a local replay, write a separate recording to a suitable editing or playback format while streaming. FFmpeg’s tee muxer can send one encoded stream to multiple outputs; its FIFO muxer can separate encoding from an output and retry after network failures. FIFO retries are recovery behavior, not a guarantee of uninterrupted delivery. If a configured queue fills, dropping packets can let processing continue but creates gaps in the output. See FFmpeg’s FIFO and muxer documentation. Test simultaneous outputs, monitor disk space and confirm the local file grows.
Common problems and fixes
- YouTube shows no preview or an ingest error: Check that the stream is enabled in Studio, the correct stream is selected, and the RTMPS URL and key match it exactly. Re-copy the key privately if needed; never post it to ask for help.
- Stream health warns about bitrate or connection: Choose a lower bitrate within YouTube’s recommended range for your codec and target, then retest with the same network route. A speed-test peak is not proof of sustained upload capacity.
- The picture is stretched, cropped or not the expected size: Check the capture source’s dimensions and aspect ratio, then use an appropriate scale and aspect-ratio filter if required. The sample command does not scale by itself.
- Game or microphone audio is missing or out of sync: Confirm the selected audio input and routing, then check AAC encoding and the Live Control Room preview. Capture-device audio routing varies by setup.
- The encoder cannot open a capture device: Verify the device name, permissions and input format against the installed FFmpeg build. Input syntax is platform- and device-specific.
- The stream drops when the network fails: Check the connection and stream health first. FIFO output retries may help recover from output failures, but recovery is not guaranteed; packet dropping to clear a full queue can mean missing content. Keep a local recording and test the failure behavior in a private stream.
- No archive appears after a long session: Streams over 12 hours may not be captured. Check for a growing local recording; for sessions where a YouTube archive matters, end and archive in shorter sessions.
