You can keep a YouTube Live stream playing Gujarati children’s stories by preparing compatible video files, listing them for FFmpeg’s concat demuxer, and sending the resulting stream to the RTMPS server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Live Control Room. FFmpeg can loop the playlist, but it cannot guarantee a 24/7 broadcast on its own: an unattended setup also needs a dependable computer or server, network connection, process supervision, and a recovery plan.
This guide assumes you have already recorded or otherwise prepared the story videos. If you are producing live narration rather than looping finished videos, the audio-input and synchronization steps are different. The sample below is a configuration template—not a universal copy-and-run command—because FFmpeg builds, file codecs, stream layouts, and YouTube ingest settings vary.
Before streaming: clear the stories and prepare the files
Confirm you have the rights to every part
Before broadcasting, confirm that you have the necessary rights to the story text, Gujarati translation, narration, illustrations or animation, music, and sound effects. YouTube’s livestream terms make the provider responsible for having the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights, and for meeting applicable territorial requirements. A familiar folk tale or an old source text does not automatically clear a modern translation, recording, musical arrangement, or illustration.
Make the playlist technically consistent
FFmpeg’s concat demuxer reads a text file that lists media files in playback order. It is a sequencing mechanism; the list does not, by itself, make playback infinite. For clean transitions, the files should have matching stream layouts, codecs, and time bases. The FFmpeg Formats Documentation also cautions that unequal stream lengths can leave gaps and inaccurate file durations can cause timestamp artifacts.

For the most predictable loop, prepare a single, finished video from the stories before streaming. If you instead concatenate several files, check that they have the same number and type of audio and video streams and compatible codec parameters. Confirm the beginning and end of the playlist, especially if the final story has a different audio duration or layout.
Create a concat list
In a plain-text file named playlist.txt, place one file entry per line in the order you want the stories to play. For example, if the files are in the same directory as the list:

file 'story-03.mp4'Use paths that match your operating system and directory structure. Filenames containing quotes or unusual characters need correct escaping for the concat file syntax. Check that every listed file exists and can be read by the FFmpeg build you plan to use.

Check channel eligibility
YouTube’s “Get started with live streaming” guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours, so complete this step before the planned broadcast.

Create an encoder stream

Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to open Live Control Room.

Create or schedule a stream and choose the visibility and audience settings that accurately describe the broadcast.

In the encoder setup details, copy the server URL and stream key displayed by YouTube. Use the endpoint YouTube provides for this stream rather than an endpoint copied from an old tutorial.

Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password: do not put it in public scripts, screenshots, logs, or source-code repositories. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.

Use RTMPS when the supplied endpoint supports it
YouTube’s developer documentation describes RTMPS as RTMP tunneled through SSL and specifies a valid YouTube ingestion URL/application path and port 443. Use the secure RTMPS server URL provided for your stream and the matching key. Do not guess or manually construct an ingest endpoint; the endpoint and key must correspond to the stream configured in Live Control Room.
Build and validate the FFmpeg loop
Check the inputs and your FFmpeg build first
There is no single safe command for every setup: the operating system, FFmpeg version and build, video and audio codecs, stream count, file durations, and YouTube ingest details all affect the correct invocation. Before launching unattended playback, check the installed build with ffmpeg -version, confirm it can read every source file, and inspect the streams with a media-information tool or FFmpeg output. Make sure each source has the audio and video tracks you expect.
The following is a template for one specific case: a concat list of files with compatible streams, codecs that YouTube accepts through the selected ingest path, and an FFmpeg build that supports looping the concat input. It copies the existing streams rather than converting them, so it will not repair incompatible files, change their quality, or create a missing audio track.

Use an appropriate secrets-handling method for your operating system or hosting environment. If you cannot protect the key in an environment variable, do not paste it into a command that will be saved in a public or shared place.

When stream copying is not suitable
If the files are incompatible, need different output dimensions or frame rates, lack an audio track, or use codecs unsuitable for the chosen output container or YouTube ingest, stream copying is not the right fix. Normalize or render the files to a consistent output first, then validate the resulting file and update the FFmpeg options accordingly. If encoding in real time, choose a resolution, frame rate, video and audio bitrate, and keyframe interval supported by YouTube’s current encoder guidance for that format and your available upload bandwidth. The correct values depend on the selected format and source; do not assume that one bitrate or setting fits every stream.
Do not treat a successful FFmpeg start as proof that the complete playlist will run cleanly. Watch for errors in the input files, timestamp warnings, a stalled source, dropped network connection, and YouTube’s Live Control Room status. Test the full playlist and its transition back to the first story before relying on it unattended.

Supervise FFmpeg and the connection
A long-running broadcast needs more than a loop option. The machine running FFmpeg must remain powered, the process must stay alive, and the network must sustain the outgoing stream. Arrange monitoring that can detect a stopped or stalled process and a restart policy that can relaunch it without exposing the stream key. Also check YouTube Live Control Room after a restart: a running local process does not necessarily mean YouTube is receiving a healthy stream.

Plan separately for the live broadcast and its replay
A 24/7 live endpoint is not a promise of one complete 24-hour replay file. YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; for streams longer than 12 hours, it warns, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup. If a replay matters, arrange local recording and consider scheduling shorter live sessions with archive needs in mind; that is an operational choice, not a guarantee that YouTube will save a particular broadcast.
Set the audience and protect a child-directed channel
Because Gujarati children’s stories are aimed at children, assess whether the stream is made for kids and set its audience accurately in YouTube Studio. YouTube requires creators to set an audience status, including for live streams. Do not select “not made for kids” merely to keep features or advertising options.
YouTube’s audience guidance says made-for-kids content loses features including comments, live chat, and personalized advertising. Its live-specific guidance says contextual ads may appear. YouTube Help states: “Most importantly, we don’t serve personalized ads on kids content, as required by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and/or other applicable laws.”

Troubleshoot common FFmpeg and YouTube problems
