Impeccable is a design-guidance skill for AI coding tools. It helps you brief an agent on a product’s context and visual direction, refine an interface, and check for common design issues. It can make design feedback more concrete; it does not guarantee professional-quality results or proven business gains.
What Impeccable does
Impeccable gives people building with AI coding agents a shared vocabulary for describing interface design. Its commands support creating a new design, improving an existing page, critiquing work, and maintaining consistency as a product grows. The workflow starts with the page or interface goal, gathers relevant context, establishes a design direction, and then guides implementation and checking where the chosen tool supports those steps. Impeccable’s official site and design guide describe this approach.
For example, instead of asking an agent vaguely to “make the dashboard better,” you can identify the problem—such as important numbers being difficult to find—and ask for clearer hierarchy while keeping existing brand colors. That is an official prompt example, not a reported user study. The command documentation offers a useful starting point: “If your app looks obviously AI-generated and you cannot explain why, start there.” The command documentation explains the available design guidance.

The getting-started guide lists Node.js 22.18 or later as a prerequisite. Its general flow is to work from a project folder, install Impeccable, and initialize it in your coding agent’s chat. Exact integration steps vary by tool, so follow the current instructions for the agent you use.
#1 Best Overall
- Check the runtime: confirm that Node.js 22.18 or later is available, as required by the official getting-started guide.
- Open your project: use the folder for the project you want the agent to work on.
- Install Impeccable: run
npx impeccable installand use the installation route for your coding tool. - Initialize in the agent: start the coding tool in the project and run
/impeccable initin its chat, following any prompts to provide context.
The guide lists Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Pi, and other tools. It describes a specific in-product route for GitHub Copilot; other integrations use their own installation options. Linking or installing the skill does not necessarily activate design hooks. The tool must support them, and it may require you to approve trust or permission prompts. Check the guide’s current instructions for your tool.
What project context it records
Impeccable separates durable product facts from visual direction. Its README says initialization records product context in PRODUCT.md; the documentation describes DESIGN.md as the place for visual guidance. Keeping these distinct helps an agent refer to both what the product is and how its interface should look. Review the generated files and correct anything that is incomplete or inaccurate before relying on them in later design work. See the README and design guide.

How its design checks differ from agent critique
Impeccable documents two complementary kinds of feedback. Its CLI and browser extension include deterministic detector rules for common patterns; according to the README, these checks do not require an LLM or API key. Separately, the agent can use design guidance to critique or refine the interface. Automated rules can flag specific detectable issues, while agent critique can respond to a broader design brief. Neither is a substitute for reviewing the interface yourself.
The documentation also describes optional hook setup. Hooks are not automatically available in every coding tool: support and approval requirements depend on the integration. For setup details, see the README, getting-started guide, and FAQ.
What Impeccable does—and does not—establish
Impeccable is best understood as a way to give an AI coding agent more structured design direction and a separate layer of checks. It can make feedback more specific than a generic request to “make it look better,” but the result still depends on the brief, the project context, the coding tool, and human review.
The project’s product record says it has no customer testimonials or quantified outcome studies on hand. That record therefore does not establish measured quality improvements, conversion gains, or success in professional design review. The README and product record also report different command totals—24 in the README and 23 in the product record—so the count is not a reliable basis for evaluating the tool. The product record and README are the relevant official pages.

Who should try it
Impeccable is aimed at designers, product managers, and engineers who already use AI coding tools and want more deliberate design guidance in that workflow. It is worth trying if your agent can install the skill and you are willing to provide product context, define visual priorities, and inspect the generated interface. If you expect an install to replace design decisions or guarantee a polished result, it is not that kind of tool.
