IGNOU has extended the last date to submit fresh admission forms for eligible programmes in the July 2026 session to 13 October 2026. The extension covers notified programmes offered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes, but excludes semester-based programmes and certificate programmes. Check the notice and programme listing for your specific programme before applying.

What is the last date for IGNOU July 2026 admission?

The deadline for the included programmes is 13 October 2026. IGNOU’s Student Registration Division says the last date for submitting the online fresh admission form for notified ODL and online programmes in the July 2026 session has been extended to that date. The notice excludes semester-based programmes and certificate programmes. Read IGNOU’s official deadline notice.

The announcement does not specify an exact closing time. If your programme is semester-based or a certificate programme—or you are unsure which category it falls into—check its specific listing and the relevant admission notice rather than assuming the extension applies.

How to apply for IGNOU July 2026 fresh admission

IGNOU lists separate Samarth application portals for different programme types in its July 2026 Common Prospectus. Start by confirming your programme’s mode and the portal shown for it; do not choose a portal based only on the general deadline announcement.

  1. Check the programme listing and admission notice. Confirm that the programme is available for the July 2026 session and whether it is ODL, online, or a fixed learner intake programme. Check the programme-specific eligibility and fee information, and confirm that the deadline extension covers it.
  2. Open the matching application portal. Use the route listed in IGNOU’s July 2026 Common Prospectus:
  3. Complete and submit the fresh admission form. Follow the portal’s instructions for your programme and submit by the applicable cut-off date. The prospectus directs applicants to the admission notification for the cut-off date.

Is October 13 the fresh-admission or re-registration deadline?

It is the extended deadline for submitting a fresh admission form for covered programmes. It is not a re-registration deadline. IGNOU’s re-registration portal is for students submitting a form for the next year or semester, and its deadline is separate. Use the portal and notice for the process you actually need.

What fees should applicants expect?

The July 2026 Common Prospectus lists a Rs 300 non-refundable registration fee, payable at the time of admission in addition to the programme fee. It is not the total cost: programme fees vary by programme. Check the official listing for the programme’s applicable fee and other requirements.
