I Want to Play the Villain! is a theatre-themed logic-puzzle game about keeping a fictional cast content. You assign actors to roles and adjust the story around their ambitions, fears and wishes. Its “bratty actors” are puzzle constraints—not a claim about real performers.
How does I Want to Play the Villain! work?
You direct a troupe by arranging actors in roles and changing the story to suit their preferences. The challenge is to find a cast-and-story combination that satisfies the demands presented in a puzzle, rather than simply following a fixed script.
The announcement describes choices such as giving an actor a role they want, finding them an appropriate partner or keeping them away from a situation they fear. Those demands turn character relationships and plot events into parts of the logic problem. Read the announcement.

They are fictional character preferences that shape how a puzzle can be solved. An actor might need a particular role, a suitable partner or protection from a feared situation. The player can respond by rearranging the cast and altering the story, balancing several requests rather than treating each role assignment in isolation.

The central appeal described by the coverage is the combination of logic puzzles and theatrical cast dynamics: satisfying the actors’ requests means considering roles, relationships and story events together. The preview reviewer recommends playing in measured sessions; that is the reviewer’s pacing advice, not an objective requirement for the game. Read the preview.
