Claude’s suggestions can point you toward possible Windows 11 problems, but they are not proof of a fault. The available information for this story does not establish which Claude interface was used, what it inspected, what problems it flagged, or whether any finding was checked against Windows or hardware evidence. Those details matter: a reader should not mistake an AI inference for a verified diagnosis.
What Claude’s findings do—and don’t—establish
To report a specific PC inspection accurately, the account needs to identify the Claude product and workflow: for example, whether Claude received screenshots or pasted diagnostic output, or used Cowork computer use. It should also give the prompt, the issues Claude raised, and what the author checked afterward. Without those details, there is no substantiated list of problems to attribute to Claude, and no basis for saying it performed a comprehensive hardware or security scan.
Keep four kinds of claims distinct: an observation visible in Windows, an inference Claude made from information it received, a fault confirmed by an independent source, and a repair that resolved that fault. A suggestion may be useful, but it does not move through those stages automatically.
How to check a reported Windows 11 problem
- Open Windows Security. Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security > Open Windows Security, then select Device performance & health. Microsoft describes this page as a place to review device health; a green check indicates everything is fine, while a yellow mark means something needs attention. Microsoft’s guide to Device performance & health.
- Check PC Health Check. Microsoft’s PC Health Check app provides current information about device health and can help users take action to improve performance and troubleshoot problems. Use it as an official reference, not a promise that every hardware or software fault will be detected. Microsoft’s PC Health Check instructions.
- Match the check to the claim. If Claude reports a battery, storage, performance, or security issue, look for evidence from the relevant Windows status page, diagnostic output, or device manufacturer. A general health status does not confirm every component-specific problem.
- Check update notices for update-related issues. Microsoft’s Windows 11, version 24H2 known-issues page lists known issues and notifications. Its content changes over time, so consult the current page if the suspected issue involves that release.
- Decide on action only after verification. Avoid consequential settings changes, repairs, or purchases based only on a Claude suggestion. Microsoft describes Copilot as able to assist with troubleshooting while not making changes on the user’s behalf; that is guidance about Copilot, not evidence of what Claude did. Microsoft’s Copilot PC-insights guidance.
What Cowork computer use requires
Anthropic’s Cowork computer-use help says the PC must be awake and Claude Desktop must be open for that feature to work. This requirement applies to Cowork computer use; it does not establish that every Claude product can inspect local Windows system state. If an account says Claude inspected a PC, it should name the specific feature and explain what information Claude could see. See Anthropic’s Cowork computer-use instructions.

What to report before calling a finding a diagnosis
- The Claude interface and feature used, plus the date and version if known.
- What Claude was given access to: screen content, user-provided diagnostic text, or computer-use controls.
- The exact prompt or a faithful summary, and each issue Claude identified.
- The independent Windows or hardware evidence checked for each issue, including whether it agreed.
- What action followed and whether it resolved a confirmed problem.
